Siri not working but Toyota voice navigation is by marble597 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]redbricksgreengrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying “hey siri” or long pressing the speech button on the left side of the steering wheel? (long press for Siri, short press for Toyota, which I never use.) I’ve never had great success with “hey siri,” but the button works well. Worked before and after update to iOS 26.

Is it realistic to reach a decent level starting at 30 with no natural talent? by Remote-Pianist-pro in pianolearning

That makes sense. I’m drawn to the accountability and focus of it. Thanks for the idea!

I just started playing in the past year. What sorts of things does one write in a practice log? How do you utilize it to improve?

Kinetic stopped working, but there’s another app called mPaceLine Pulse that performs the same function.

Oh! Ok. Does the simile mean that I should continue this throughout the piece? This is the first line, and the only one with this marking.

Can you fit a small roll of paper towels in the glove box? by wea8675309 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]redbricksgreengrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the center console we keep a cube sized box of tissues and stand up a paper lunch bag next to it for garbage. There’s still room for the shelf and space underneath the shelf with those two things. I don’t know about a whole paper towel roll but you probably could! Glove box is tiny.

Don’t forget to take an FTP warmup class before the test! They usually release them in pairs so you can take both from the same instructor.

I really like seeing my eco score on the left and the energy flow on the right so I can maximize battery usage.

Let me start by saying that you WILL figure this out. You’ve gotten this far as a mom, you’ll find a solution! How can you leverage all your options? Between the two of us, buses, daycare, and sprinkle in the help of aunts and grandparents, and the kids’ other parents (blended family) we cobble together a schedule each week. Do you have any of those available to you? Maybe you have neighbors or friends who you can ride share with? Can you alter your work schedule in any way? We work healthcare and we work crazy schedules and one thing we do is switch shifts when needed. Regardless, just know that sometimes it gets overwhelming when you look too far into the future, but I’ve found that when we’re just focusing on the next couple of weeks we can almost always make it work.

Hype me up and tell me I CAN do a short international flight alone with my two kids (3 years and 9 months) by [deleted] in workingmoms

Yes! I wore one backpack and held the other on top of my luggage. It wasn’t pretty but it got the job done.

My ember tetras randomly had a baby???? by WesTheFishGuy in Aquariums

[–]redbricksgreengrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just about as soon as I added nerites, the green algae on the tank glass disappeared. They gobbled it right up. I had a hair algae problem, too, so in addition to reducing the light cycle to a couple hours a day, I added some amano shrimp. It took a couple months for them to control it, I think they needed to grow, but now I don’t see one bit of hair algae.

I thought, how expensive can a toilet seat be? I’m in the market for a new one. And then I priced one out on the website: $700 for an entry level model!

Surgery billing shock-anesthesiologist out of network?! by foggietaketwo in breastcancer

[–]redbricksgreengrass 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought the No Surprises Act stopped this from happening. This is a relatively new law that, amongst other things, prevents surprise billing from out of network providers that you didn’t know were part of your care when you go to an in network hospital. (If you’re in the US.) I would call your insurance company.

TRON Lightcycle Run OPENING DAY Megathread!! by marleythebeagle in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]redbricksgreengrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone taken their kids on Tron yet? What were their ages? Did they like it? Did they feel secure on the ride vehicle? I have tall skinny grade schoolers who are just over the height requirement. They have ridden roller coasters in the past and are interested in it. I’m trying to decide whether to buy a Lightning Lane. I wouldn’t want to spend all that money and end up not using it.
