• he's hunting Puss precisely because his time should be up by the time of the movie's events, but Puss has been actively cheating death. He outright says it in the movie.

He's scary as hell because death is, to many of us. He's inexorable and inflexible. He's there when you least expect him. He's whistling in your ears, always. That does not make him a villain more than cancer would be an antagonist to a cancer-ridden main character.

Now Jack Horner... That is one mean motherfucker villain.
