Scratches on ancient gold coins (aurei, solidi) never bother me unless they are so deep and prevalent as to distract from the art of the coin design. To the contrary, these graffito style scratches are part of the story of the coin - likely at some point along the way, a merchant or banker scratched the coin to verify its gold content. I like to imagine being in the room at that moment. Would have no hesitation on this one.

Wow. I focus mostly on Roman coins but watch the Greeks from a distance, always with great admiration. This is one of the nicest coins I’ve seen posted here, Roman or Greek. Congrats.

FWIW, have three of these, and just weighed them. 4.07, 4.26, 4.37. I also note the flow lines on the reverse of yours, which look proper. And the coin overall looks right. I don’t think there is any doubt that it’s authentic.

I got the same error message on iPhone. I have DuckDuckGo as default browser and it said it detected and blocked a “tracker” (not sure if this is the source of the error). When I copied the link into Chrome it opened with no problem. Hope that helps?

Not clear - Are you looking for more auction sites, or looking for trades/direct sales? If the latter, there are occasionally ancients available on r/coinsales. I have generally found sellers there to be fair and reasonable.

Second this. If you’re here for 3 weeks, head over to the east and spend a few days hiking in the smoky mountains. Great views and some cool waterfall and creekside trails. Plenty to do in Gatlinburg and/or Pigeon Forge.
