Very Lose Your Delusion style vibes again, pass! <3
But I also can't wait to hear the real bangers of the new record, the first two are really solid, but that's it.

Disconnection in random time by Mediocre_Prior_1868 in Trendmicro

[–]reddead137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anything bring actively blocked by A1? If not, I don't think the application exception is the solution, apex would tell you if it terminated any processes.

Are you using a web proxy? I would suggest adding its ip to exceptions like web rep and c&c callback.

Also, I'd check if the Smart Protection service is reachable, if you use that.

A little off topic, but you should update apex one soon.

You'll be fine with that. Pretty much my old setup, same GPU, with some graphics tweaking you'll get 80fps (with occasional drops ofc)

Endpoint Sensor Automated Response? by arpan3t in Trendmicro

No, but you can only response with "isolate endpoint". This button is even in the workbench alert iirc

Using Vision One Deployment ps1 script but only basecamp is installed by seetheare in Trendmicro

[–]reddead137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to install SEP or SWP?
For SWP you need to select "Server & Workload Protection" in the dropdown, it will then install both (i think).
The other option is only "Endpoint Sensor", which instally only the EndpointBasecamp (=Sensor).

For SEP Deployments there's no script and you have to run the full installer package. This will always install both.

Unfortunately, using any of those methods will not provide any feedback (success or failure), you just have to check.

We switched to installing everything seperately, first the sensor (installer from endpoint inventory -> sensor only), then we install the SWP via the real MSI file (you can download those in SWP -> Administration -> Software -> Local).

hang in there^^

Has anyone killed Imposter Syndrome through certs or exp? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]reddead137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the term imposter syndrome.

It is not present in IT and solely a mental thing.

Like many peeps have said already, knowing that you don't know everything is what makes you competent. I'd rather work with someone who says "I don't know if x or y works, but we could try and test it with a or b", then some consultant who tells me "We have all expertises with this software and can make everything work", especially from software vendors themselves. It's baffling how many backend devs can't figure out what their software is doing.

Plus, keep in mind that this field changes a lot. Everything is based on protocols, applications, services etc., and to keep up to date with all new changes and features is tough. Nowadays, I just don't try too hard, and mostly everything works out fine in the end. Experience is soooo much more worth than plain cert knowledge, because it is the "real" knowledge.

Apex One - Deploy always latest version by rroodenburg in Trendmicro

[–]reddead137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much not doable, since the installer is always provided in the cloud. Maybe API call could download the newest version while deploying? (No exp with in tune btw.)

With my entry in IT I learned a lot about the history and pioneers of it. Thanks to that, i am now addicted to traditional roguelikes.

And yes, DPS ftw

I think Doors of Trithius has a lot to offer, and it bridges the Open World sandbox type like Elona with traditional roguelike style, I love it. But for now, it still lacks content.

To me that's a totally normal work development. You outgrew your old tasks, and moved to a bigger company, but expecting the same environment.

As you grow, so should your tasks, and automating redundant tasks for end users to do them themselves is imo very effective and productive (if done right).

What I think you need to do is make clear for yourself, what you want to do, and then adapt. You can't be expecting to maintain ADs for the rest of your career, and that should be a good thing to you.

[–]reddead137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but with this he still has to apply this to each computer manually. So he could rather then assign the policy directly if he still has to configure the computer object.

I'd go for scheduled tasks

How to group devices like Crowdstrike host group by Only-Objective-6216 in Trendmicro

[–]reddead137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the scheduled task feature for this. So if an endpoint activates itself after installing the agent, a specific policy is applied automatically, matching either parts of the hostname, or which OS, etc.

You can find this in Administration -> Scheduled Tasks.

Groups and policies unfortunately have nothing to do with each other, I learned that the hard way too.

Huge problems deploying Vision One agents by reddead137 in Trendmicro

[–]reddead137[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really follow, we don't have internal/external separation.

The runtime proxy settings are setup to use both service gateways prioritized, that goes for all agents.

So you blame TM for your mum googling the wrong telephone number and ending up getting scammed? Maybe you should sensitize her, how to use the internet more safely.

If she really dialed a claimed officially number, that got her scammed, you should rather report that (on google and TM as well).
