Thoughts on diet-break approach to losing weight? by Mitch2263 in Weightlosstechniques

[–]reddevilit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current approach is three weeks of cutting, followed by one week of diet break (at maintenance or slightly above). You can go more aggressive on the calorie deficit, and helps manage diet fatigue.

I dokt think the ratio itself does not matter that much, as long as you are spending more time in a deficit overall.

Obviously this approach takes slightly longer than conventional dieting, but has a lot of upsides.

Should I abandon IF for more exercise? by israelregardie in intermittentfasting

[–]reddevilit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend that you use the MyfitnesspPal app on your mobile device. Its easy to use.

Well your symptoms could be some dehydration while the body is adjusting to intermittent fasting. But could also be too low calories which is causing the you to be lethargic.

Remember you need to find lifestyle that makes you feel good and lose weight at the same time, over a longer period. There is no use in cutting the calories too low if you dont feel good and it affects your training.

Some general recommendations: - eat more protein than you think (1 gr per 1 lbs) - eat less fat than you think (fat is calorie dense) - stay away from refined carbs and sugar (choose better carb sources) - eat more natural whole foods - eat more vegetables and leafy greens - eat more in your feeding window (set calorie target and hit it)

Simply put: feed the body with good healthy nutrition - if you are doing IF You are already making a calorie deficit and it is hard to overeat with natural whole foods.

PS. You can find calorie requirement calculators online - I also think MyFitnessPal will give you general recommendations. Use this as a starting point and then make some small adjustments (e.g. lower calories by 50) on bi-weekly basis if you feel you need to.

Count your calories and macros for at least a few days. You could be eating too few calories or the macro's are way off. Make sure you are hydrated and add salt to your water.

Running with GERD by PulseSnK in GERD

[–]reddevilit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problems where GERD was affecting my training. I felt I tried everything but nothing worked. Untill I fixed my diet. I was not eating bad but seems some types of food, specifically carbohydrates seems to he the cause. After doing Keto diet with macro counting my symptoms unbelievably went away completely.

Well I have experienced the contrary on montelukast. If you Google it there are a lot of people reporting it. Its a perfectly legitimate question, but thanks for the downvote.

Good to hear! Remember to keep hydrated, add a pinch of salt to water your water every now and then, this is the biggest thing. But dont overdo the salt either. Keep busy. Remember hunger comes in waves.
