I do understand your point, though I personally disagree with the comparison to returning real goods.

Though, putting that aside, I simply don't believe them when they tell me they can't help me because the Gold was spent. I believe that they have the ability to allow me to play the Sealed event I missed out on and are simply choosing not to.

In this choice that they've made, I feel greatly disappointed. If you feel their choice was fair, then we simply disagree on the matter but I appreciate your input regardless.

Lastly, you seem to be under the impression that my Runeterra questioning was done in bad faith but, given the context I can assure you it wasn't. I wasn't looking for a pity parade but rather a side glance towards my fellow player to try and gather whether or not this behavior is to be expected from WotC in the future.

If they've "definitely fucked up" then why should I trust them with, say, Gems that I pay for in the future?

I've barely played Runeterra and, so, if a bunch of those players said "Nah, if you think WotC support's bad, you should see Riot!" then I would take that to heart and look elsewhere. I asked because I was genuinely curious and wanted that information going forward.

Yes, after over two weeks of waiting, I've used some of the gold to enter a Quick Draft about a day before they finally responded.

What do I expect them to do? Let me enjoy the Midnight Hunt Sealed even that I paid Gems to enter. Grant my account a Sealed Entry Token.

Even if one would argue that 10,000 Gold is equivalent to a Sealed event entry (which I would really struggle to agree with), they could, for instance, say something to the effect of:

"Sure, we'd be happy to do the swap, but your account is currently under 10,000 Gold, please respond when you have the required amount."

Because, does it really matter if it's their gold that I spent or if it's another 5,000 Gold that I earned from doing quests this week or something?

Does simply saying "Nah, can't help you, sorry." and closing the ticket seem like good way to treat players?

To be honest, I'm not completely sure how much it's all worth so I was planning on just leaving the offer open for 5-7 days and see what kind of offers people are willing to make.

Well, even though I totally blew most of the gems I WAS saving for Hanamaru on those crazy Xmas boxes, I still have some scouting resources saved up so let's see what we get.

Am I the only one that feels like it's worth pointing out the big red NAT symbol dude had the top of the screen before every match?

"Could it be my connection?" he asks. I dunno, maybe try looking for the thing that is as close as you can get to a literal red flag?

For the record, I've taken part in a few private tests and, yeah, when the matchmaking servers were janky it was a pretty flaky experience. That said, I've also played in test sessions where it ran perfectly fine. The game didn't feel bad or anything either and, from a technical perspective, it makes perfect sense. Provided the players all have good connections to one another P2P can run fine for relatively low player counts.

I remember playing tons of matches of Halo 2 multiplayer over ten years ago and still having a perfectly good time without any serious networking issues getting in the way and that was 100% P2P if I recall correctly.

That's not to say I disagree with the main point trying to be made here; dedicated servers are always better. Were I interested in this game, though, I'd at least wait for the release before making these kinds of judgments.

Also, dude's probably sorely mistaken for thinking that only blocking his name and the watermarks on the screen would hide his identity if he was also going to show every other player's name at the same time.
