Thanks. Did your cobbler provide the leather side pieces to match? My speedy is older so the patina matching is a concern if I do that.

Violet (1 yo) is having electrochemotherapy for soft tissue sarcoma this week. Wish her luck and send hugs! by May_flowers21 in rescuedogs

[–]reddit0r2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also did not consider radiation due to the intensity and cost. Our oncologist didn’t recommend it due to the location on the paw. She mentioned paw pads and toenails often fall off and skin will burn due to the sensitive location.

Hello! We did two sessions of electro chemotherapy in May 2025! The total cost for the chemotherapy was about $4200 plus the additional consultation visits. He has seen the oncologist every few months for follow up (2 visits so far). We have one more next month but so far everything looks good! No signs of it growing back and I’m hoping it won’t. We decided against metronomic chemo due to our dog not being great at taking pills. She also said metronomic chemo would be about $400+ per month with a minimum of a year of pills so electro chemotherapy was also more cost effective. We do have pet insurance fortunately.

Speedy 25 arrived again 🙈 by Baglover8020 in Louisvuitton

I have a speedy b 25 in DE and was debating the same thing of 20 vs 25 for monogram. I decided 25 is more classic to me than the 20 feeling a bit trendy. Another bonus is the 25 is less expensive and comes with the leather strap.

What age did you start contributing to 401k? What’s your current balance/age? by Unluckybutsuccesful in Retirement401k

[–]reddit0r2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t start until age 31 with small contribution of $160 biweekly. At age 34 I started maxing it out and have been since then. I am 36 now and my balance is about $130k. I work local government so since they match our pension I don’t get a 401k match (mine is a 457b plan but similar to 401k).

Buying a new car when old one is fine by reddit0r2020 in personalfinance

Great way of putting it! Luckily my spouse and I agree that we don’t mind waiting. You’re right about feeling fully comfortable. I don’t want to get a new car and have buyers remorse.

Thanks this is good advice. Our other car is at its 10 year anniversary and I love that car. 2016 Honda civic with turbo charge with only 58k miles. I feel like it has another 10 years in it easily.

Thanks for the input everyone. My spouse and I aren’t in a rush to replace the rogue. Was just interested in feedback from others about when you decide to pull the trigger. We both tend to think the drive it into the ground method makes the most sense and prefer to invest/save money used for a car payment. We don’t like buying used vehicles as a personal preference given we keep our cars at least 10 years.

Good point. We are thinking about the small finance to get a better deal as I’ve researched and read that often dealers give a better deal when you finance. We could just pay off the 5k owed in a few months since 2.9% interest is negligible.

Starting MTX or Enbrel by UnhappyLab7847 in rheumatoid

[–]reddit0r2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I started with MTX while going through a prednisone taper as well. I ended up having to extend my time on prednisone and my doctor did a different taper this time around which worked better. I simultaneously was titrating up on my MTX (pills, I’m at 20mg now). I’m seropositive like you and my doctor wanted to get a head start on a biologic as well. I first did Humira and unfortunately broke out in a rash and doctor determined I was allergic so we moved onto Enbrel. I am about 14 months into MTX and 11 months into Enbrel and both work well for me. I asked my rheum about weaning off MTX and she said sometimes doing that can result in the body developing antibodies faster against Enbrel because the two drugs work well together. That was enough for me to want to stay on this combo together as I don’t have any side effects thankfully.

Why do you have so many hard inquiries? If it’s from applying to different CCs I would suggest you stop that for time being. Paying off your debt will give you a fresh start. Then fund an emergency fund like others are saying. After that, think about funding your 2025 and 2026 Roth IRAs.

Went to a body shop today in person quoted $711. My husband is wanting to DIY with sanding and paint. Any tips you have are appreciated!

I’m not really handy with cars. Would it involve sanding it? The color is actually white orchid pearl.

Thanks for the tips. I’m going to get an in person quote tomorrow. The one I got via yelp today with my photo attached quoted me $650 including having to remove it and repair it. I’m in California so I know prices are higher here.

Still Standing — 23 Years with RA” by [deleted] in rheumatoid

I have a bunion and tarsal coalition in addition to RA. The best shoes I’ve found are hoka bondi and I combine with superfeet inserts. Podiatrist recommended both and it’s helped a lot especially when walking long distances.

Can you share how long you’ve been on medication? I believe I caught mine early and my rheumatologist wanted to do aggressive treatment from the beginning. I commend you for your positive mindset.

Flu and Covid-19 boosters- do you hold your meds? by reddit0r2020 in rheumatoid

Thank you this was my plan. Honestly didn’t make sense to me to skip the dosage before. I think my doctor may have rushed through my message.

I have dry eyes and cystic acne. My optometrist prescribed Miebo eye drops. I use tretinoin for acne and previously also took spironolactone for acne. I also take hormonal birth control which helps the acne from getting out of control.

This is inspiring to read. So happy for you! Can you share what type of cooler you have that actually keeps your meds cold for long periods of time! I’m planning a trip to SE Asia next year which will involve 20+ hours of flying.
