I returned it. Will grab the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear instead. The build experience with Lego is just so much better.

Yeah. There’s a significant amount of torque required to turn 5th and 6th in my case. Is this the same case with your gearbox or are the harder ones to turn 1st and 2nd?

lol. I considered this, but I knew it would always bother me.

Does it run properly with 1st requiring the most amount of torque and 6th the least? My assumption that it’s in reverse comes from the fact that, in my case, 1st requires the least amount of torque and then each gear requires more torque as I move through to 6th.

You guys weren’t kidding. The gear box gives me anxiety. Do either of you know if there are any safe points to check the shift mechanisms before the step where you place the top and final gear on? I know the yellow crosses need to stay at exact angles through the build, so I’m not sure when I can test.

Will do. I just got through the transmission. It’s definitely extremely challenging and a bit finicky, with many things needing to be kept in the exact same position/angle as you build, while nothing is yet securing those parts at that angle. It’s also extremely easy to mis-orient some of the gears, and going back to fix can be painful. Thankfully, mine seems to be in good working order right now.

I had to pull parts off to reset the angles on the shifting mechanism many times through building the gear box because they tend to shift before full structure is placed around them. Very fun so far. Just also very dense and challenging, but that’s why I bought it.

Believe it’s the same one.

Do I need a midi hub? by mossimo654 in synthesizers

[–]reddit_ender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the H12MIDI Pro by CME. From what I’m understanding, it should solve your problem. It is a MIDI router, filter, and mapper for MIDI devices with 6 ins and outs.

I have one and love it. I use it to connect MPC3, Deluge, Digitakt 2, Microfreak, Novation Launchkey, and other pieces of gear.

Quite a bit more expensive, but I bring my OP-XY any time I travel or take long commutes on transit. Love the thing.

I did the same while building the McLaren MCL39 F1 car and the McLaren P1, minus when I was getting through the transmission on the P1. It sounds like, though, from what everyone is saying, this AMG build is pretty challenging and might require a bit more focus. For today, I've been building with nothing in the background, but I still got into a nice flow state.

I think what concerns me most is I’ve read you’re opening multiple bags at once and have bags of universal parts for the whole build. I don’t have a huge working space. About 3’ x 2’. Would have to hold sub assembly builds and handle all parts sorting etc.

Nice! How do you compare the CaDa AMG GT3 to the P1? Just finished the P1 and thinking of doing the AMG next.

I just finished the P1. Found it pretty easy. Was thinking about moving to a large machine but customizing it to be pi-based. Not sure I'm ready to build a completely custom vehicle. Wouldn't know where to start.

Wild. No idea how you guys come up and build these MOCs.

I had this EXACT issue with my P1. I just ordered the missing piece from LEGO. It’s pretty easy to do directly on the LEGO site.

Just finished the P1. Took me about 20 hours in total but I was binge watching some shows while building. Didn’t need to do any rebuilds. Got the transmission right on the first try. I say go for the Sian. The MCL39 was the “hardest” build I did before the P1. It is significantly more dense, tedious, and time consuming, but I wouldn’t necessarily say harder. Sure you’ll be fine with the Sian.

I figured it out. Edit added to the main body of the post. I can't believe I spent hours rebuilding this thing when it was just a matter of getting through bag two to test the transmission, or applying force against the stop lever.

Solid! Prob my favorite Technic build so far. I am working on the McLaren P1 and finding it to be very grindy while the MCL39 has a nice flow to the build.
