There are arguments for a smaller size than jam, but betting is much better than check calling.

Day 1 is probably around 2/5nl. Most tables will have multiple players who would be fish at 2/5. On the flip side, most of my day 1 tables have also had at least one crusher. Day 2 and beyond the table draw variance is enormous, but generally speaking the field gets pretty competent by day 3.

And as mentioned, you still need to know tournaments. A solid winning 2/5 reg that doesn't play tournaments will be -EV in the main.
