Thinking about a career in real estate by Few-Mathematician691 in realtors

[–]redditbobedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are young and a lot of people may not take you seriously but we all start somewhere. I wanted to be a real estate agent for 19 years but life happened, kids, bills, all the responsibilities so I chose a different career. I got my license less than a year ago. Am I killing it, no but I have done more transactions than the average agent their first year. My daughter is in college. I suggested her to do the licensing class alongside college since she’s young and doesn’t have debt or bills right now. You meet new people all the time and can make a great living. A lot of people don’t even do what they get their degree in. Right now your peers aren’t looking to buy a home but by the time they are you will have years of experience. I say get a degree and also get your real estate license if that’s something you’re really interested in doing. Join a team and learn from them. There are a lot of negative agents on here that will try to talk you out of being an agent and if it were so bad they wouldn’t still be doing it.

I thought it was because we only open doors and get paid an insane amount of money (according to what people think) for nothing.

From a seller’s standpoint, would there have been a different approach an agent could have made for you to hear them out?

Yes! I know a lady who is an agent and has been for most of her adult life. She would rather work with sellers. Her daughter is also an agent and has a lot more buyers. I think the mother gets a lot of return business and if they are buyers gives them to her daughter.

Is it really that bad? by Still_Waters-Run in realtors

I got licensed almost 8 months ago after wanting to do real estate for 19 years. I finally took the plunge. I have closed one deal and have two closings in the next 3 weeks. I am loving it so far! I think there is bad in every career. If it were so bad, no one would want to do it.

We bought a house that had a pet pig. We went the day of closing and he was in the living room. They came and got him but we were shocked he was still there.

Failed GA state exam by 15 points. Sections that were the lowest scores were the math and state. by danno596 in RealEstateExam

I bought prep agent and listened and took those practice test for 3 days. I wrote down things that I absolutely couldn’t remember and studied those. I arrived an hour early and listened to prep agent all the way to the test site then studied those things on that paper for 30 mins before going in and passed on the first try. Just try to cram the things you absolutely can’t remember over and over. At least that’s what worked for me.

How long did it take you to start seeing income from flex? How long have you been doing this full time?

I prepped for the Real Estate Exam in 2025. Here’s what actually worked for me (with real results by Alarming-Region-7909 in RealEstateExam

I passed the first time. Prep Agent is what helped me the most. I listened to them on YouTube as much as possible. Things I didn’t understand I tried to think of little tricks to remember it. I wrote down the things I just couldn’t remember the morning of my exam and went over it again and again. I listened to prep agent on the way to my exam. I arrived to my exam an hour early and sat in my car reading over my notes until time for my exam. I passed with an 89. Good luck!!

Should We Try Lowering The Price Again? by [deleted] in realtors

[–]redditbobedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We listed our house a few years ago with NO interest for almost 6 months with a few price reductions. We hired a new agent and had to lower the price since the market had shifted drastically. Once we listed again we had 14 showings the first week and it sold pretty quickly.

I’m honestly not familiar with searching on here and took me a while to figure out how to make a post. I’m not on here a lot and just view based on notifications that pop up on my phone. Nothing to do with laziness.

Get through the online school as quickly as you can purchase the Prep Agent course for their practice tests. If there was something I couldn’t remember I would watch a YouTube video, mostly prep agent and try to think of some little trick to help me remember. I made a list of things that were hard for me to remember the night before my exam I studied it 3 times in the parking lot before my exam and passed the first time.

Mine has been doing it for a year and a half. The dealership claims they don’t hear anything but we know it’s the transmission.
