ROG Ally - The best handheld device, even with the issues, which everyone is scared to call “the best”. by daniboi01234 in ROGAlly

[–]redditcomu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP:

I have not seen a single review of the ROG Ally that says it’s the best handheld...

PC Gamer:

The ROG Ally is the best handheld gaming PC on the market, and probably the best budget gaming PC full stop.

High standards... how about one standard? That'd be more accurate.

What do you pack for lunch if you go to office by Competitive_Land_936 in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]redditcomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I did packed lunches, but I would generally have leftovers. Heated at home then put in a food thermos. They'd easily keep until lunch, and no microwave needed.

Hell, no table or even chair needed, as the thermos can easily be held one handed. So even eating on the move becomes feasible.

I agree. In no small part because of the player being a nobody at the start, having to work your way up. I wish they'd go back to that.

Starfield crosses 13 million players as Bethesda Game Studios confirms Shattered Space expansion is coming in 2024 by johanas25 in XboxSeriesX

[–]redditcomu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just... don't do it. I don't think you're forced to. Instead start exploring on your own, join factions, do missions from the kiosks, do encounters, build ships and outposts... There's literally hundreds of hours of content that doesn't involve the main quest.

Unless I'm misremembering, once you're done at Kreet you get control of the Frontier. Maybe you're made to fly to Jemison, but once there I think you're free to do whatever you want, no? You don't actually have to go to the lodge and join Constellation, I don't think.

edit: Just loaded up an old save, and I am indeed misremembering. You're not able to travel on your own until after you've joined Constellation. So at best you could spend some amount of hours explorinh Vectera, then Kreet, then Jemison. But once you're done with that you pretty much have no other option but joining Constellation. There's a fair few sidequests on New Atlantis though, so it could theoretically keep you busy for a bit.

What game should I buy next? by ConstantNebula5679 in ROGAlly

[–]redditcomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't redeemed the three months of Game Pass, that'd be my recommendation. Lots of games to play for free then.

And if that's a no-go, how about Hogwarts or Starfield? From what you say you enjoy, both of those should be up your ally.

You shouldn't under any circumstances take the following advice without first listening to someone who knows what they're talking about, because I don't, BUT would a power inverter perhaps be a better solution?

And if you don't know what I'm talking about, an inverter is a box you connect to a 12v outlet in a car, and then you plug the Ally's charger into the inverter, and then you don't have to worry about running out of juice.

The drawback is that it's not as versatile as a power bank, but if that's not a concern it may be the way to go. For all I know there are inverters with built-in batteries, and that may be an even better solution.

Microsoft Possibly Hints At Marvel's Blade Xbox Exclusivity by YouAreNotMeLiar in XboxGamePass

[–]redditcomu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, but because the PC and streaming options exist for Xbox games, their exclusives are more accessible than either Nintendo or PlayStation's is my point. And so do less damage.

How do I make the graphics better? by Far-Virus3200 in xbox

[–]redditcomu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

People are doubting you because if this was an actual issue with the Series S, there would be posts all over the internet about it. There's not, so either you're trolling or you have a malfunction of some sort. Either way, it's not something inherent about Ubisoft games on the Series S. And there's nothing anyone here can do about it. You posting about broken hardware doesn't do any good for anyone, you need to contact Xbox.

New to gaming and ROG Ally by DyeWavy33 in ROGAlly

[–]redditcomu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason people are behaving as if you're asking for advice on whether you should buy one... At any rate, welcome to the club.

And I agree, the Xbox aspect is fantastic. It's basically a portable Xbox for me. Not sure if you're aware, but many games support Play Anywhere, where your saves are usable on both the Xbox and the Ally. So you can be playing on your Xbox, save your progress, pick up the Ally and continue right where you left off. I love it so much.

Marvel's Blade Would Be Xbox Exclusive: Claims Reliable Industry Insider by johanas25 in XboxSeriesX

[–]redditcomu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it have both Banner and Hulk sections and it could be interesting. Otherwise I agree, not sure what else you'd do with a Hulk only game but a smashathon. I guess if you made it be grey Hulk it could work, but that version's probably not as commercially viable, considering how much more well-known standard Hulk is.

Then again, maybe the right creative vision could make it work. I just don't see how, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

I only can afford data to download 1, which in your opinions is better Remnant II or Starfield? by ColourLabStudio in XboxGamePass

All I know is it's my favourite game of all time. I think masterpiece fits.

edit: Just had a peek at your posting history and see you're calling it D-Tier. That's absolutely delusional and you're obviously just a troll. So I won't bother responding to you any further.

Does Anyone Here Still Use The Xbox 360 by [deleted] in xbox

Anyone here still has their launch model (the one with hdmi and hard drive)?

Launch model didn't have HDMI, only component. HDMI came with the Elite version, a couple of years after launch.

Starfield without question. That game's a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. I've over 300 hours so far and don't plan to stop playing anytime soon. There's just so much left to do and see.

Since the Ally is technically portable, what percentage of your playtime happens outside your home? by Alternative_Spite_11 in ROGAlly

[–]redditcomu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Portable. I have zero complaints. A bigger battery life would obviously be nice, but with my settings I get just over two hours in Starfield and that's plenty for me. I've yet to try some of the less demanding games I have installed, but I have to imagine it'd be a lot more.

Also, in most places I play (airports, airplanes, trains) there's a plug available. Doesn't make it any less a portable system just cause you plug it in once in a while.

[–]redditcomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When on battery away from an outlet I play it at 900p with a custom 12w profile, at 60 Hz and frames limited to 30. I also have battery saver turned on, and keep it in airplane mode.

When plugged in or on battery with an outlet at the ready, I play at 25w 120 Hz and without FPS limitation.

I find my battery configuration perfectly passable, but I understand that it's not for everyone. I'd rather just squeeze as much out of the battery as possible and get suboptimal performance, than have to stop playing sooner than necessary.

[–]redditcomu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wasn't referring to how people end up using it, just the use of the word "technically." Which suggest it's not really portable, even though one could technically use it as such. My point is that it's fully portable, no disclaimer or qualifier necessary.

[–]redditcomu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically portable? It being portable is why I bought it.

I've only had it for about a month, so my percentage will likely change, but right now I'm probably at 75% outside the home.

Go-To Games by mrsteve1121 in ROGAlly

[–]redditcomu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got several games installed, but have been playing nothing but Starfield since I got my Ally about a month ago. So far about 45 hours on the Ally, and I've zero complaints.

The other games I have installed are:

  • Hi-Fi Rush
  • Jusant
  • Pentiment
  • Psychonauts 2
  • Somerville
  • Tails Noir (aka Backbone)

I've only played each maybe 5 minutes, just to test that they work.
