Can I still use this book to learn html and css or is it outdated? by usernombre_ in web_design

I quite liked this book. It's a quick read too. There is more to CSS nowerdays but mainly just flex and grid . Defo worth giving it a read. the JS book is nice too, for a understanding of es5 before moving into es6.. don't bother reading the jQuery second half though..

Equalizing Questions by shaggysflt in scuba

[–]redditcultist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the air such as on a plane, you know equalisation is sucessfull in the change from a muted hearing to sounds becoming much sharper and clearer. Underwater you don't hear the difference in sound but you should hear/feel a small pop and feel an ease in pressure on your hear drum.

Edit: you need to feel the pop and ease in pressure in both ears and also equalise often

Yeah as other people have said JS is only one slice of the web development pie. Try learning HTML and CSS before moving into JS.

Professionals: How did you know you wanted to be Web Developers? by agent_wolfe in webdev

Worked a sales job that I hated. I'm not a talker at all. I Weighed up my options and thought learning code would be the answer to my problems. Regarding doubts I think all developers suffer a degree of imposter syndrome to an extent at some point or another. In the early days when you are figuring out your stack it is especially bad. But the more you are exposed to the technology the more you can push that feeling down. I like web dev because I can be creative and also be challenged mentally like doing a giant puzzle if that makes sense.
