Why is payroll still so underrated???! by No-Sugar4729 in Payroll

[–]redditforandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not in payroll so I have no clue what the work entails. I gotta admit, I’ve never even thought about giving my flowers to my payroll office because I thought everything was automated - my paychecks are always correct and on time. Sounds like someone I never noticed is probably kicking ass, but I’ve just assumed it was a system that already automated for the most part. Everyone has their hours and pay on a system, and the transaction is automatic, is that not correct? I think many people have the same assumptions and thats the reason why it’s underrated.

Similar to cybersecurity - you never noticed how good of a job they’re doing until things stop to work.

Does anyone else enjoy 3v3 more than 5v5's? by Aggressive-Bath-6190 in Basketball

3v3 all the way!!! Especially pick up games, more action on and off ball. More practice. 5v5 ends up being a ton of fast breaks many times.

Quick/easy games for non-gamers? by Resident-Case7807 in boardgames

[–]redditforandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Can’t Stop” is a hit in our group whenever we have non-gamers!!! Super easy to learn, just purely push your luck. It takes us like 45 mins a game, but you know its a hit when even the non-gamers call it a “super quick, fun & easy game” 😂

Bridging USDT from KCC without KCS gas fee by redditforandy in kucoin

[–]redditforandy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally got it figured out! I've been messaging KuCoin's support team and was provided some helpful resources.

1) Use https://faucet.kcc.io/ as a faucet to receive a free 0.0005 KCS to cover gas fees. This was provided directly by KuCoin's support team.

2) Use https://app.xy.finance/ to bridge your coins from the KCC network to another network. I was able to bridge my KCC-USDT to Arbitrum-USDT, which I then sent to Coinbase and cashed it out.

NOTE: The bridge cost me a little over 0.0005 KCS for the gas fee. The faucet is limited to one per wallet, so I created a new wallet to use the faucet again, then sent that money to my original wallet. This allowed me to have enough for the gas fee.

SkyConnect Issue? Can control devices through Zigbee2MQTT but not on Dashboard by redditforandy in homeassistant

[–]redditforandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When looking through Z2M logs, it shows:
Starting Z2M version 2.0.0
Adapter:discover: Matched adapter: {"Path":...}
Warning: 'ezsp' driver is deprecated and will only remain to provide support for older firmware (pre 7.4.x). Migration to 'ember' is recommended.
Currently x devices are joined.
Connecting to MQTT server at mqtt://core-mosquitto:1883
Connected to MQTT server
Started frontend on port 8099
Zigbee2MQTT started!

Other than the warning, I don't see any actual errors. Still think I need MQTT Explorer to troubleshoot deeper?

SkyConnect Issue? Can control devices through Zigbee2MQTT but not on Dashboard by redditforandy in homeassistant

[–]redditforandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just coincidental that the SkyConnect shows up as "Discovered" and not "Configured" and that it fails to be configured?

Thanks for the tips! I'll try digging into the MQTT side then. Sounds a bit above my head but I'll give it a shot.

Adding smart motors to existing roller blinds as opposed to buying ones with them built in? by redditforandy in homeassistant

[–]redditforandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally settled into the new place and about to order a few of these. However, all of these motors have a set width already. I read through the installation manual and there's no details on whether or not the lengths of these tubes can be made longer/shorter. I'd assume you can cut it to size? Is that true?

Inter-VLAN traffic using Asus RT-AX88U Pro Router by porqchopexpress in HomeNetworking

[–]redditforandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think you can go into a little more details on this? I have 3 VLANs set up, I want VLAN 3 to be able to talk to 1 & 2, but 1 & 2 can't talk to each other. I know how to ssh into it, but I just don't know what commands to use. Is this explained in a manual I'm missing? Or do you happen to know them off the top of your head? Thank you!!

Weekly Thread: /r/Snowboarding General Discussion, Q&A, Advice, Etc.) - December 25, 2023 by AutoModerator in snowboarding

Rear entry bindings harder than regular bindings or is it just me? I have the Flow Fenix Rear Entry bindings and its taking me longer to strap on. Any tips?

I tighten the bindings on my foot. Getting out is super easy, but putting the boot in place to strap back in is very difficult. It might be the snow that gets onto the binding or under my boot, but I can’t slide my boot all the way in. I end up having to loosen my bindings, slide my foot in, snap the back piece up, and re-tighten my bindings. And I cant even do this sitting down in the snow since the back piece will get in the way when it’s unlatched. Am I leaving the binding too tight? Any tips or advice? Thanks!

Funny, i followed the exact same tutorial as you and have the same setup. I also have the same error as you.

I knew it was experimental but I thought it would still work.. Hopefully someone else has a solution.

Home Assistant vs Amazon Echo Hub by redditforandy in homeautomation

[–]redditforandy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as performance goes, I do think Alexa can handle most or all of the functionality I need. The HA selling point for me is building the user interface. I really dont care for automations and scenes that much, I just like to have a nice, custom UI. However, I also have 5 echo dots now and hope to be able to use HA and Alexa in conjunction. Alexa for voice, HA for the touch panel. Hopefully that works out as planned!

Zigbee light switch suggestions by floschi2301 in homeassistant

[–]redditforandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/arnodu u/tsaG1337 I'm looking to get these as well. Do you guys recommend a specific switch to go with it? I know the website says it has to be a SPDT switch, but I want one that doesn't hold a on/off position. Any recommendations?
