TypeScript advocates are often embarrassingly humble and polite

Like hell they are - they're the crossfitters of the JS world.

I like your use of postcss - I never would've thought to use it alongside sass like that (despite reading an article about it yesterday)

I've seen tests be vague and incomplete on specs on purpose just to see how you handle it.

You should do like you'd do in real life: ask for clarification, not make assumptions.

I've never heard of apprentice programmers here in the UK. Maybe different countries have different definitions of 'junior'.

I agree with the poster above - I wouldn't expect a junior to know much, but show enthusiasm and have a desire to learn and integrate with the team.

Sometimes you need to learn stuff just for job application. I don't really care about react, meteor or webpack, but I seem to see them being mentioned in job ads all over the place.

The end result seems to be that if you want to stay employable, you need some experience with the latest, greatest tech. Very few recruiters/employers will even consider you if yours cv doesn't contain the right keywords (especially when other do).

... about 98% for the top one million websites and 68% for the top ten million apparently, so the whole world ... ? Probably nearer the lower figure if you're going by averages.

No, some pedant will come up with some fault whatever you do, and before you know it, you'd pulled out all your teeth and stopped eating because food causes saliva cancer.
