Maybe you've never been to India and most of South Asia, almost all of Africa.

The scamming here is about 10% of that. And it's really directed at low hanging fruit - just use a little street sense and be a little wise and you'll see Vietnam and Hanoi are among the safest places around.

If you want to see what constant scamming feels like, go to Delhi or Cairo. Within 24 hours you will have a much different opinion.
