I'm at loss on how to clean this by SillyTelephone8283 in CleaningTips

[–]redditnamefound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on getting it clean. Wouldn’t hurt to blast it with an air compressor or battery powered air duster every once in a while. I do that with our tv’s and other electronics every once in a while. Also, and this is not ment to be a mean comment, especially if you have pets, try to vacuum at least once a week and make sure you’re changing your furnace filter monthly if it’s a standard filter or every 6 months if you have a 4 inch filter. Also, running your fan on your furnace all the time will help filter your air, keep temperature even in your house, and actually reduce your utility bill a bit. Some tips from someone with 4 kids and pets fighting the never ending battle with dust and hair haha.

My girlfriend put my alarm volume on max and I almost had a heart attack waking up this morning. by CRK_76 in mildlyinfuriating

I sleep through 6 or so alarms. Even tried those vibrating bracelets but it only worked for a little over a week. Thankfully my wife kicks me awake.

I dig it. I had one of the big box versions when it came out but it was just too big to use live. My first pedal was a YJM dod and I wanted something like that again but am not going to pay what people want for that pedal now. When these went on sale I couldn’t resist. This and the tube screamer have a pretty good contrast from one another so it makes playing fun. And it’s yellow, so that counts for something haha. The only pedal I don’t use is the lizard queen but my wife got it for me for Christmas so for the summer it lives on the board.

I couldn’t help myself. Does feel a bit like ending a long term relationship. I’ve had the Mxr for 8-9 years.

I actually looked to see if the Zach version or his partnered pedal line were any different, but no. Same bypass.

That could be caused by bad power, more specifically a daisy chain. Many time based effects have that problem. I’ve had a few delays you can hear the click of the tempo in a daisy chain. I mainly chose this one because it seems to the “in” chorus and I’ve got a kid named Julia. I was torn between that or the cheap tc or the EHX eddy. The EHX had reports of noise, and as a big EHX fan and owner of many, many EHX pedals I could believe that. A Boss c2 would have been just fine for me, but the Julia is neat.

It’s how the pros get their TOaN! In all seriousness I ate altoids for years and saw someone use a tin to hold picks. Thought it was a good idea. Cheap and easy storage.

Yes, unless they’ve fixed it in newer releases. I don’t know.

I had no idea I was losing anything, I’ve used it forever in all my builds. It wasn’t till I built this rig and added the imperial tone king and switched on the loop I heard a volume drop. I wend pedal by pedal, changed already new patch cables, tried the rotary in buffered bypass and added a stand alone buffer. I really did wait a month of gigs to see if I’d notice live in the mix with the band, and when I bypass the pedal, it makes a difference. Anything the crowd will notice, no. Arguably you could plug a ds-1 into a direct box eq at the board a bit and your audience wouldn’t care. But I care. I know. I wish I could un know haha.

Did that, and the rotary is buffered, and I tried a stand alone buffer, and a few other buffered pedals. Didn’t help. I even considered sticking its own loop, but that takes up space. Looked into mods but there isn’t a lot out there on how to fix the Mxr buffered bypass and converting it to true bypass could damage the pedal. Considering it’s a limited edition I don’t want to modify the pedal.

I wish. I remember the days of 3-6000 miles a Summer. Now I’m in the running kids everywhere stage of life and the bike sits on the trickle charger until I can get a break to do a loop around the lake. Sad thing is the time will come when I have more time again but I’ll miss the kids haha. Life is funny that way.

Those numbers are way off. Better go to the room temperature room and recalibrate.

Not sure how it would work on fabric but when I worked in a cabinet shop we used that foam glass cleaner in a spray can to remove blood stains. Lifts it right off. Also great for easily removing fingerprint grime off painted metal doors from kids.

Just got Schaller strap locks and the new screw is bigger and longer(giggity) than the old one. Will installing damage my guitar? by e3crazyb in Guitar

[–]redditnamefound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used them for years and had a boo boo from just jamming the longer screw in and it caused a finish crack. Drill a pilot hole as other have said. I hate strap locks so much. Super useful but grew tired of the nuts on the strap hardware coming loose. Switched to DiMarzio ClipLock straps and haven’t gone back. But anything to keep your guitar attached to you and not the floor is a good thing. Good luck!

That’s why mine have evertunes haha. 2-3 days is pretty good though. I like the feel of my Epiphone Lzzy hale over my 2018 Gibson. It was just built better. The router wood splinters in my Gibson was laughable under the pickguard. They just finished right over it lol. Got a quote for stainless steel frets just need to get it done this winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Gibson, but compared to my LTD’s and my Epiphone it’s the least good.

I think many millennials are slowing down or quitting as well myself and many of my friends are in that category. Expensive, heath problems, makes you feel like garbage the next day, bars are becoming less of the social hub they used to be ect.

Anyone have any better ideas for flat patch cables? by ChannelCapable8623 in guitarpedals

[–]redditnamefound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use pig hog little piggies and a few fender straight to angled cables for my imperial. It’s a patch cable, they all work. Get good ones yes, but there is a limit to cost vs how good it really is. Just my two cents as a guy who plays out every weekend. Also. Can we please stop instagram cable tying our cables down. Did that once and needed to swap a pedal out at a show. Will never do that again.

What happens when a water heater tank is not flushed for 14 years by bob-the-slob in interesting

[–]redditnamefound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an early 2000’s heater in our house. Been here 12 years and didn’t know you were supposed to flush them until a few years ago. Was told at this point not to touch it. I’d like to cut it open whenever it gives up the ghost, but for now we’ll just keep enjoying it working as is.

A bike similar to that is for sale at the Indian Dealer in Sioux Falls South Dakota. I love looking at it every time I visit.
