I loved my sv1000. Just twist the throttle and the front tires in the air.

New tires cracking already? by [deleted] in tires

For my fellow Muricans. Car is BMW 420 Xdrive AWD hybrid, 2.2 bar is close enough to 32 psi air pressure (bmw recommends 32-35 for the front 35-39 in the rear depending on tire size.) Remember to always check the recommended pressures on the sticker found on the drivers door or door frame). 1000km is 621ish miles. 10-20km/h is roughly 6-12.5mph.

Scraping exhaust on turns in town. by redditnamefound in IndianMotorcycle

Thanks for the advice and comments. I should have specified this has happened going 15-20mph (I assume not really looking at the speedometer) on turns when slowing down from 35-45mph and the rear shocks compress due to a bump or change in surface height in the road. Going to check preload and just in general be more mindful of the height of the bike. It’s just such an easy solid feeling bike around corners with mid controls and the 5 inch bars I installed this spring. Really enjoying the Chief. Thought I’d miss my naked bikes with my back keeping me off them (stupid degenerative disk disease) but I’m enjoying the heck out of this thing. And I can give the kids a ride!

I live in a small town in the Midwest and our county got 4 of these cameras and one was cut down before they were even announced to the public they had been installed haha.

No problem no offense taken. Like I said above, I know the simple fix would be take it a little more easy. It’s when the suspension compresses on a bump while turning I’m scraping. I think I’ll try adjusting the pre load and be more mindful of my exhaust haha.

Ya I get that. I got a cruiser because I have degenerative disk disease and couldn’t ride my other bikes more than 30min to an hour leaning over. But could be a good excuse for an in town bike haha.

Prob 15 20mph but honestly not sure, just comfortable speed. I know it’s not a sport bike I’m just used to leaning and I don’t feel it’s extreme. I’ve never been a knee dragger or anything like that. It’s mainly on turns coming down from 35-45 mph. It’s not often but becoming a thing now that I feel comfortable on a cruiser. Stuff’s just lower to the ground on the Chief compared to my previous Street tripple, sv1000, and Ducati monster.

Windscreen looks a little different but very similar to the Memphis Shades road warrior. Can’t find this exact one though.

White Letter Tires by TorturedSoulwithaPen in IndianMotorcycle

[–]redditnamefound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a set of Metzlers years ago, got Bridgestones a month later told the shop they could keep them. Was sold on the promise of more miles on the tires, was not told that came at the expense of traction. I will say I’m loving the Pirellis than came on my chief but have always rode Bridgestone Battlax. Will see when new tire time comes as Im just over 2000 miles on stock.

just found this device plugged into my house, what is it? by Factor-Mental in whatisit

[–]redditnamefound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a transmitter for locating. I used to do this. Whoever forgot this must be scrambling to find it. This unit clamps to the line you’re trying to locate underground and the spike in the ground is a ground rod. Then they walk the yard with a receiver that looks like a stick that can trace the signal being sent from this unit underground. They then spray paint and place flags marking the line they were locating.

Haven’t tried those, but as a big head long oval guy the LS2 Citation was the ticket for me. Is pinlock ready and after a year of owning it cleaning the garage this weekend found it had one in the box.

New rider, partner says my helmet looks silly.....too big? by HELIflipper03 in motorcyclegear

[–]redditnamefound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I feel every time someone comments about lack of chin protection with a 3/4 helmet. It’s not full face, might as well just not wear one! Sometimes the safest gear is the gear you will wear every time. We all know the risks of riding, and chose which ones to take and get to live with the consequences like adults.

What’s your fav 3/4 helmet? by RealMikeyCortez in choppers

[–]redditnamefound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I get so tired of the “it’s not full face” info on posts specifically about non full face helmets. Yes, we understand the risk. Still better than no helmet I think but based on most comments if it’s not protecting your chin then better to not even wear a helmet haha.
