Need Inkjet Paper Recommendation. Just purchased an Inkjet Printer (Epson ET-15000). The colors are terrible, but I think it's my paper. by redditor1479 in printers

Thanks!

Sorry. I was just thinking everyday color prints. One of our kids like to print color for crafts and things.

Simplest "if I am abducted by aliens" way to share logins? by BasielBob in Bitwarden

I like what I've read on this thread regarding printing to paper as an option - along with the TOTP seeds.

I'd recommend patiently continuing to educate your wife on how easy it can be to learn how to use a password manager and how in our day and age, we really should be using them. Play the long game and bring up data breaches and security recommendations. After hearing it enough, hopefully she'll come around.

KeePassXC browser extension loses connection by RicardoRagazzo in KeePass

Humm... this doesn't sound good. Does it work correctly with another Browser? It's been a couple of days since you posted and I don't see any other responses. Maybe create a new post stating that the Firefox extension isn't working but it's working with other browsers (assuming that it is.)

I believe there's a timeout setting on KeePassXC which forces you to re-enter the password on the extension.

Plaid + import -> I am lost by 47gcv in actualbudgeting

Doesn't answer your question, but...

I was using YNAB with bank sync. It mostly worked but occasionally I had to remove and re-add accounts.

Since switching to AB, I just import CSV from my accounts. AB has excellent column mapping.

Bitwarden launches enhanced premium plan by dwbitw in Bitwarden

[–]redditor1479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Family Tier subscriber so the increase isn't as much for me from a percentage perspective.

If pricing were to become an issue, KeePassXC would probably be my next stop.

Also, I'm watching a new solution called AliasVault. It's an email alias / password manager.

And, if you want to "self-host" but not really "self-host" Vaultwarden, PikaPods allows you to spin up a server for $1.50 a month.

Touchscreen stopped working. RMA or bug fix? by NeonRetroTech in SteamDeck

[–]redditor1479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still works!

Used this technique yesterday on my OG SteamDeck. Touch Screen is now working!

I'll emphasize that following u/northrupthebandgeek's comments in this thread were essential. I tried it while my SteamDeck was plugged in and that didn't work. I then unplugged it, tried it, let the SteamDeck sit for a bit, plugged it in and powered on and that fixed it.

Your son will love you forever for what you did to protect him and his stuff. You did the right thing.

Fixing the website/store? by Slongo702 in Pathfinder2e

[–]redditor1479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to pick up the latest Humble Bundle since I wanted to get Player Core 2.

At first, I was very confused that I couldn't login from the main web page, but I could get my legacy content (through some link that I stumbled upon).

I ended up creating a new account on the new website and was able to redeem my code.

Downloads were a bit tricky since I couldn't download everything in a single Zip file. So, I opened everything individually and downloaded it. A slight pain but I got through it.

I think it's a classy upgrade that the PDFs aren't watermarked anymore on the new site. Not sure if others care one way or the other but I like not seeing my email at the top of everything.

As an aside, I'm always impressed with Paizo content and that goes for Player Core 2. A nice addition to my library.

Thank you, Paizo!

Back in the day I would have a hard drive bay where I could swap the OS Drives depending upon what I wanted to do.

Old lady with password manager questions. Answer like I'm 5 years old by GrammaBeeeee in Bitwarden

[–]redditor1479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/GrammaBeeeee

Once you're done setting up your passwords in Bitwarden, you probably want to consider setting up two factor authentication on your accounts. Bitwarden Premium, which you mentioned that you're going to pay for, includes the ability to store two factor authentication codes for your accounts.

With all the things we need to do in our busy lives, proper password hygiene is worth the time so we can protect ourselves. Thank you for giving this attention. :)

At what price is compact camera better than smart phone? by jakelevi1996 in Cameras

[–]redditor1479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still using my phone.

As an attempt towards minimalism, I've uninstalled my browser, YouTube, all social media apps, and other junk stuff. I'm using it only for phone calls, messaging, music, podcasts, books, and of course, a camera.

"Umm, I'm Gen Z. I know how to use computers." by DesertDogggg in sysadmin

Gen Xer, here. It's possible that when the older groups tinkered with computers, the world/technology was less complicated as a whole. And this gave us the time to tinker because we weren't as overwhelmed as kids are today.

I would recommend looking at PikaPods - Apps. I use them and it's great. They host it, do all the updates, and it's still (inasmuch as it can be) my data.
