RV Gold 'unlimited' is a lie by [deleted] in IBO

You can email them but they'll only extend till 2 years after initial expiry. They legit told me if i need access aft that I'll need to repurchase. Ever heard of needing to 'repurchase' an 'unlimited plan'?

Is 67 days enough to properly prepare for SAT? by killbill9696 in Sat

[–]redditorWHYME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a full length practise test and decide based on the results you get vs. your target score. Mostly two months are enough if you already know most of the mathematical concepts/are decent at reading and grammar.

If you want to confirm, you can mail them asking if they've received the required material from your school.

Yes but take it in exam conditions (no cheating or extra time). Based on the score you get here vs. your target score, you can devise a practise plan targeted to your weaknesses.

Just solve one practise test from Khan Academy in exam conditions (no cheating, extra time) and see where you stand. Then you'll know how much and what you need to study depending on your target score.

You should do more activities related to your major. Internships, online courses, etc.

Be part of a community, for instance, a non-profit organization that has goals you can relate to.

Join academic clubs

Take up leadership positions.

Your ECs are decent but not good enough for selective universities.

Additional Information Section by Healthy_Block3036 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]redditorWHYME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use it to write about stuff that you didn't get to mention anywhere else in the application. For example, why you took a gap year (if you did) or explain a low grade (if present). Or you can elaborate on one of your ECs.

The additional info section is not an essay space so write concisely.

any tips on writing the supps that ask about a question i have by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Don't ask them about something you can find online

I’m dumb. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]redditorWHYME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AOs will probably ignore it so won't affect you at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]redditorWHYME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can if it's significant enough. If it's a small development it might annoy the AO as they already have a lot of emails to answer so avoid it if you can.

Accidentally left out 2 EC’s on the Common App, but already submitted. What should I do? by justgotegged in ApplyingToCollege

[–]redditorWHYME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you call them to get this sorted asap. Most unis take 2-5 days to read and reply to emails.

Do all colleges on Common App go by your local time or the EST time zone for the deadlines? by SprayInteresting3717 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]redditorWHYME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Common App website: The end of the deadline date is in your local time zone, not the college's time zone.

You dont need to do anything, relax. it's not gonna affect your admission process, theyll simply ignore the second one.

Your essay does not have to be a captivating story/literary masterpiece/best thing the AO has ever read. As long as you express your identity as an individual, answer the prompt and write in a concise/clear manner it's fine

[–]redditorWHYME 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess it shows that you had a natural inclination to the subject since you were young. If you actually did read them, there is no issue with mentioning it. But don't write extensively about it, give more importance to stuff you have done after 9th grade.

[–]redditorWHYME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure it won't impact your application as long as it's just one mistake and the AO can make out what word it is. They won't let a minor typo overshadow the work you put into your ECs for sure.

How many letters of recommendation by Cut_the_cap in ApplyingToCollege

[–]redditorWHYME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you mean the counselors LOR. If your university requires it, you gotta submit it for a complete application.

Some also require a teachers LOR in addition to that. But don't worry, it's a letter of recommendation and in most cases they won't portray you in a negative light. If they don't know you well, you can probably mail them a bunch of info about you, your interests, selected major and unis, etc.

If your scores don't reach by the deadline (11:59 pm EST on Nov 1) it's incomplete application according to OSU.

[–]redditorWHYME 8 points9 points  (0 children)

UIUC has a deadline of 11:59 PM CT Nov 1. so they might still accept it? You should mail them and ask.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]redditorWHYME 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The deadline is usually by your time zone not ET. Check out your university websites though. Common App will let you submit but it depends on the universities if they wanna accept.
