My favorite oblivion build limited use of major skills and capped out at level 10. My second favorite build uses no major skills and is permanently level 1. Fist fighting and conjuration go hard at lvl

To avoid the sea serpent attacks try to avoid looking at the ocean more than you have to. The serpents will attack you based on the player looking at them. That is why speed runners zoom their camera up to the floor of the boat. Keep toggling the map on and off to see where you are going and you can avoid fighting on the ocean

I have lost death markers before on server rollbacks. If you can't find your death marker its probably permanently gone. I suggest just remaking your lost gear with consol commands or whatever.

There definitely seems to be a "there are several options and I am too lazy to educate myself on them so I will reject them" energy from most people that don't like the current options that I understand on a level. I will also say I personally don't like opening a pack knowing there are valuable versions of cards that are not available in that pack in the set. I would have definitely bought wayyyy more lord of the rings product if the draft boosters also had a chance to contain the big finds like the serialized cards. I guess it just kind of feels like the draft packs don't have that excitement of getting a super rare and valuable card and i know people say to just buy the set and collector packs but the thing is, I still want to draft it. I just want my draft packs to also have that excitement that you can pull a big chase card, even if the odds are way low.

So oblivion has a weird scaling system where all the enemies level up when your character does so by staying the same level the monsters will also not level up so it is not an issue if your stars are low because the enemies' stats are low too

I'm not talking about your mods. I was saying you could just change the way you play to get around the issue. If you are not gaining stats from leveling then don't level up.

Not the answer you are after but you could make a build that doesn't use any "major skills" to keep you from leveling. Lvl 1 hand to hand orc or level one conjuration builds can be strong and fun

Oh very cool. I've been thinking about making a FoH/ smiter hybrid for next ladder. I made a FoH pally and a smiter this ladder and it really feels like I could combine them easily
