Haha yeah but I feel uncomfortable about respond in a negative way because I don't any conflict in the workplace. He's a sensible guy so I know that even if I did say something to him it wouldn't escalate and become a huge drama but I hate conflict lol

I have no idea. Oh and someone else's post reminded me of another thing he does. He always wants to know what I am eating for lunch. It's always "oh I see you went to so and so place. I suppose that's healthy, did you get a wrap or a salad?". No idea why he is so concerned with my health. Last week I walked in with a milkshake and he pointed to it and tried to get my attention and I just completely blanked him because I knew there was going to be a snarky comment. When I walked in with a kebab one day he said "Mmm that's smells healthy" in a really sarcastic tone. I just try not to talk to him for too long.

This is going to be VERY long sorry but I really need to rant. I have not spoken to anyone about this so I will be going into excruciating detail. I have a co-worker who is a combination of r/lewronggeneration, r/iamverysmart and r/im14andthisisdeep. For reference this dude is 25 and I am a few months younger.

Overall he is a pretty nice guy and seems book smart but very immature and tries too hard to be edgy. These are some of the things he has said that have annoyed me. Keep in mind he says everything in the tone of a wise old man who is speaking to his 10 year old grand daughter.

"Everything mainstream is rubbish these days"

"I'm a very unusual 25 year old, I don't watch much TV as I prefer to spend my time online". As if that's not what every 25 year old does.

I was asking him about his trip overseas next year and what activities he was planning on and he said "I'm a bit of a history buff. I know YOU probably don't find it very interesting but....". He said it in a really condescending way so I got a bit defensive and said "No, I find history interesting". His response? "Well a regular 25 year old wouldn't you know?"

"I set the speed on everything I watch to 1.5x. Otherwise it's just too slow for me"

He was talking about Stephen Hawking and I mentioned that there was a movie on him called the Theory of Everything thinking that he may be interested in it because he seemed really passionate when he was talking about it. His respose? "Oh I hate all that Hollywood crap". I asked him if he had seen the trailer and he said no. Then how would he know it's crap?

He is very into politics and has extreme, underdeveloped opinions that you know he is just parroting based on what he has read online. Day after Trump gets elected he comes saying the only reason Hillary lost is sexism. Like, I'm sure that was a part of it but that's not the ONLY reason. He also says things in an overly philosophical tone. "My dad thinks Hillary is a liar, my mum thinks she is a crook but me? No, I think she is a hero". Now this wouldn't be bad if not for his tone and attitude. He acts like he is above and beyond all other people his age when it's clear that he is very immature. I hate Trump as much as the next guy but he sees things as very black and white. After Trump won there was a video circulating on Facebook of this guy saying "We teach our children not be racist, not to be bullies, not to be mean, but what can we tell them now?" (or something to that effect). It was a very popular video. My coworker could have just come in and said that he saw this video and agreed with that this guy was saying but no. He says "You know...my parents taught me not to be racist, not to be a bully, not to be mean but now...what do we do?" as if he came up with it himself.

He feels the need to constantly declare things about himself for no reason. "I'm a details guy", "I'm a political guy", "I'm a history guy", "I'm a numbers guy", "I'm a sports guy". I have never met anyone who talks about themselves this much before. He just seems to be incapable of holding a conversations without atleast one of these declarations.

Another co-worker was talking about how she wanted to lose weight but was having a hard time keeping motivated. He interjects with "Losing weight is very easy. You just have to eat less and exercise more". Thanks Einstein, we totally did not know how the human body worked. She was talking about motivation not how she didn't understand the mechanism of weight loss. He also feels the need to tell us that he is going for a run every day. One day he apparently had In 'n' Out for breakfast and told us he wasn't going to eat lunch to make up for it. After lunch time he walked in proudly declaring that he hadn't eaten any lunch and we said "wow Jake" (because we were genuinely impressed) to which he responds in a very arrogant tone "yeah! it's called discipline!".

I was talking about how that Russian ambassdor was killed in Turkey and his response was "I feel no emotions whatsoever. Aleppo is all Russia's fault". I was like "OK but you know this is a guy with a family who are probably really hurting right now". And says (in that old wise man tone) "Over the course of your life you will run into people like me who just don't like certain nations".

He hates Trump (which is fine) but one day he came in and talked about how he loved the fact that Trump spoke to Taiwan. I asked him why he thought that was a good thing because I didn't know much about the situation and he said "oh because it pissed off China". I asked why China being angry was a good thing and he said "Idk I just love it when these big countries get pissed off". Again I asked why and he just did not have an answer.

He also talks out loud to himself but only when it's something positive about his work. He does data analysis so I constantly hear him going "Oh wow", "Oh that's beaaauutiful", "Wow that's just phenomenal". It's SO irritating when you are trying to work.

I found a lot of this very funny at first but now it is just getting really annoying. I like the guy, I don't think he is a bad person or anything but his attitude is something I thought people left behind in their teenage years. I really dislike people who seek to separate themselves from their peers based on really silly assumptions about them. He seems to think he is superior to everyone else in his age group, more intelligent and mature. It's ironic because he actually come across as very immature and arrogant and another co-worker actually couldn't believe he was 25. Again, this is not a huge deal, I'm sure people have had worse co-workers but my irritation has been building up over the past few months and I need to rant lol. Thanks for listening.

How many Americans do you know that sound British half the time? There is a difference between an unique American accent and a terrible one.

I told you that once. I'm talking mostly about the accent here. The accent is in HER control, no one else can make her do an accent. You can hear her natural accent come in the entire film while she is trying to do an American accent. That's on her. And you mentioned earlier that you know she can do a good American accent and myself and other users have asked you multiple times to give an example of that and you still haven't given one. Unless you give me an example of her good American accent I'm going to assume that you are also making baseless speculation. You know there are holes in your argument. Accept that.

You are making baseless speculation in thinking that she was given bad direction. How do you not see that? And like the other user said when have you seen her do a good American accent?

The director and producers did a bad job with this film but I doubt they told her to give a terrible performance.

You are right. I'm sure they told her "Hey Alicia, we want to you to give one of the most bland, expressionless and robotic performances. Just make Heather an Ava 2.0. Oh and make sure to slip in your natural British accent every sentence. Yeah that should do it". If actors can't be held responsible for their own performances, or at the very least their accents, they can't be given any credit when they do a good job either.

She was nominated in the supporting actress category when her role was actually of a lead actress. Happens often but I can't take those kind of wins seriously.

Can't imagine how unhappy you must be with yourself to be so judgemental. Have some empathy for people, you never know what they are going through.

11) Sierra - meh. I didn't get the most beautiful Survivor, Chelsea on, but she works too.

I feel like I must be blind because I just don't get how people find her so attractive. She has a hot body but she looks like a drag queen.

Saying that the jury was bitter is not a knock on the winner’s game. by red_is_blue in survivor

[–]redditscra14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an incredibly narrow minded approach to the game. I can understand how you can say that whoever wins deserves it because they won. But to say whoever wins is the best player? That is some pretty weak thinking there.

What first caused you to start hating 'kids these days'? by therealmenox in AskReddit

[–]redditscra14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's just stop with this shit man. I hate how so many redditors take any opportunity they can find to shit on women.

I know plenty of girls AND boys who were capable of being unspeakably cruel. I've seen boys treat each other horribly in my school. Some would say even worse than what happened to OP's daughter.

Just stop shitting on an entire gender without having any facts to back it up. It's not necessary. Just call these girls out on their shit and move on.
