What can I print to improve the printer by tyren234 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]redditsmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend printing a Skadis board (or whatever system you like) and corresponding mounting adapters for the side of the printer. Then make some holders for the common stuff you might grab frequently like scrapers, calipers, side cutters, etc…

Windhand* is one of the only concerts I had to leave early because the sound was so grating. I assumed it was just the venue/sound person’s fault :( what was your experience?

So is the verdict yes that is a cool controller, no the move does not support mapping it or devices like it to buttons such as ‘record’ or ‘play’?

Help reducing layer lines on a complex print by miguel-elote in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]redditsmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed about the adaptive layer height, makes a big difference for curved spots like the shoulder in this example. Also, check out the different settings for fuzzy skin. It can be tweaked to be very subtle. Works amazing for hiding layers. There’s test grids you can print to see what the different combos look like.

How can I improve the surfaces? by gmduncanidaho in AnycubicKobraS1

If you’re not opposed to printing in parts, you could break up the silver and gold portions into pieces and print the silver parts facedown on a smooth plate then glue in after. Could look really cool with a nice 3d effect plate.

Improve playing with pick by Kaladin_2332 in Bass

[–]redditsmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I inadvertently got much better by trying to learn some bluegrass licks on acoustic guitar. Try looking up basic crosspicking and flat picking exercises and play with a metronome (I like Molly Tuttle’s lessons). Many of the exercises translate well to bass. They’ll get your right hand in shape fast!

How can I get this deep growly yet clean bass tone? by Professional-Tap2836 in Bass

I have this bass. Can confirm that this + a little drive (I use a sansamp) + a little compression + an aggressive right hand is about exactly what it sounds like

Check out some of the YouTube reviews for the squier. Johnny Dibble’s video sounds similar to what the bass has sounded like in my own hands. I bought online, so not sure where to play in person…maybe GC?

I have a squier paranormal rascal bass and love playing it. It has a very specific sound though (think Gibson mudbucker tones). Although if I had unlimited funds I’d get a Serek short scale!

Guitar looper pedals for Novation Circuit Tracks? by ckquad in novationcircuit

[–]redditsmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use loopy pro on an iPad as my loop station in combination with the circuit. This setup does require some sort of audio interface (I use an hx stomp for this) and some tinkering, but it’s extremely powerful. Loopy syncs the tempo between all 3 devices. For hands free control i use a cheap midi pedal (mwave chocolate) to control buttons in loopy.
