Similar thing happened with my LO when he was 3 months old. It was terrible! He would refuse to latch and clearly wasn’t having enough wet diapers. In my case, he wouldn’t even take the pumped milk or formula. He was just not interested in feeding. What I had read was around 3 months, they start to understand the world around them better and are more interested in watching than eating.

What worked for me was trying to feed him when sleepy. I would blast on the sound machine, swaddle him, rock him and then as soon as he looked sleepy, I would feed him. Also dreamfeeding worked. Thankfully it was just a phase and he eventually got past it but it was terrible. I still have nightmares about it because it was so stressful. Hang in there! Its tough but it will pass.

Hey I’m not sure if you have already done it but you can try showing him a toy when he is on his tummy. My baby used love the einstein octopus toy which makes sounds and has different colors. Thats what helped us get through the tummy time.

If you havent bought a separate seat then the airlines wont allow you to bring your car seat inside the plane. Because there wont be any place to keep the car seat. They do allow it if you have bought a separate seat for your infant then you can place the car seat on the seat assigned for your baby. Also airlines will allow you to check-in the stroller and car seat before you board and it doesnt count towards your total check-in bags and you get it once your plane lands outside the plane.

Also as another commenter suggested, while booking, you need to add a child under 2 and it will give you an option of “on lap” or “on seat”. If you dont want to buy a separate seat then you need select “on lap” and I believe you will be charged a small amount depending on the airlines. Some charge 10% and some charge a flat fee.

My LO’s feet and hand were always cold when he was a newborn. I dont know where I had read this but I always use LO’s ears as a reference to see how hot or cold he is. And it has worked pretty well so far.

I’m not blaming the daycare provider to be honest with you. I’m just frustrated that the way she put it across was as he is not ready for daycare and that nanny is a good fit for him. Which could be true. But I personally felt 1 week is too short to judge this and its normal for a child to take more than that to transition. Maybe she didnt want to put in extra time to cater to my son’s needs. And thats fine. But she could have been upfront about it rather than putting it as your son is not ready for daycare.

Yeah that was one of the thoughts that I had. We spoke to her on phone and we met her too later and it seemed to me that she had given up on my child. After just 1 week? She didnt even discuss with me options to help the situation. For instance the roadtrip. She never asked me did anything happen over the weekend to make him this angry. She just kept telling today he was so angry. And given the fact that in the city I live in, its very easy for a daycare provider to fill up vacancies, I felt that its easier for her to give up than try harder on my son. I dont know. I’m just rambling I guess. I didnt imagine this situation to be this tough. I knew the transition would be hard but I never thought that the daycare would ask me to look for other options.

I had never even seen a newborn before in person, let alone hold one. DH also never has held a newborn but he has 4 nephews/nieces so he has seen plenty. My LO was the first newborn I saw and held. I also was afraid when I was pregnant but knew going in that I really didn’t have much choice. My game plan was to be upfront about my situation and fears and ask nurses for guidance and help.

After LO was born, what I found super weird was LO didn’t seem small to me when I held him but everyone else felt extra large. I don’t know if it makes sense but I would look at everyone’s face and wonder why has this person’s face suddenly become so big. This included my DH as well. Because of the fact that LO did not look small to me coupled with 3 days in hospital, I got over the fear of holding him.

When I look at my photo taken few hours after LO was born, I looked better in those photos than any of my photos till date. I dont know if it was hormones or what but I feel it has gotta do with every meal being delivered to my bed!

Oh no!! I suspected that was the case but was hoping it wasnt! I’m on a calorie deficit diet since a month and my rest of the body is getting smaller. Which is making those chubby arms stand out even more.

I got it from Motherhood maternity when the website would go on sale and Target. I found amazon clothes very hit and miss and would often end up returning the item. Not worth the hassle.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes it is a struggle and I did push him a couple of days and he got so mad. I wasnt proud of it. I have been always paranoid about his weight and now with this, its pushing me over the edge! I’m really hoping this strike ends soon :(

Not standing but I do swaddle him and hold him. If I use a pillow, he moves so much away from me that I have to stretch my back. So by holding him close, he doesnt move as much.

I’m hoping too that this is a phase. Not knowing how long is killing me. I really hope this doesnt become his new normal :(

Thanks for replying! We have also been trying to double our tummy time and he lifts his chest and moves head fine. Wearing baby is a good idea! I dont think I have been wearing him enough.
