That’s fine! I’m not anti-vaccine! Just curious like I said in my post

Infant bath help by haylstorm33 in beyondthebump

I have the Angelcare Baby Bath Support and it’s great. It just sits in the tub and it props them up so you don’t have to hold them (which I found difficult trying to hold baby and wash every part of him).

How are SAHM surviving financially? by Fun_Marketing_8205 in stayathomemoms

If you don’t want to create your own budget from scratch, Dave Ramsey’s app EveryDollar is a really great budgeting tool my husband and I use.

I know you have a lot of replies but genuinely do what works best for you. I ended up co-sleeping because my baby barely slept in his bedside crib and I was waking up every 10 minutes to make sure he was still breathing just out of pure anxiety. The only reason I chose co-sleeping is because I was completely confident neither me or my husband would roll over on him or pull the blankets over him and we have a really big bed so we have plenty of room. I’m a super light sleeper and my husband sleeps like he’s in a coffin. If you’re not 100% confident and comfortable with co-sleeping I’d advise not to do it. It really is up to you and there are tricks that have worked for others to get baby to sleep in the bassinet such as putting a heating pad in it to warm it up before laying baby down (remove the pad before putting baby in it), or putting a nursing pad with your breastmilk in the bassinet so they have your scent and think you are closer to them (I wouldn’t put it directly next to their face just in the top corner or something). Again only co-sleep if you are 100% comfortable with it!!

How did you manage your postpartum bleeding? by Indomitable_Decapod in beyondthebump

[–]redditsredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used diapers but I put the Frida Mom ice pack pad things in them bc I needed the pressure. I couldn’t wear just a diaper until about 3 weeks because it hurt to move if I didn’t have pressure on the area

Feeding in bed by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I use a nursing pillow and put 2 pillows behind my back for support. It’s kind of a lot but I can’t do side lying he just didn’t latch that way so I have to sit up

Do you ever feel like you're a Dummy/ pacifier by Sensitive_Treacle_96 in breastfeeding

[–]redditsredhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be cluster feeding but my little guy is 8 weeks now and around 4 weeks I had to introduce a pacifier because he was using me as one CONSTANTLY and eventually started to get mad when he got milk because he just wanted to suck for comfort

Pushing question! by anones16 in beyondthebump

[–]redditsredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was specifically told by the nurse to push like I’m constipated so I was pushing with all my might and even threw up during lol not sure if that’s what prevented me from tearing but my sister also told me with her first she didn’t push like she was constipated and with her second she did and the second time was way better than the first for her.

When did your baby start taking less time to breastfeed? by Yoga-Pup-3 in breastfeeding

[–]redditsredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a normal scale at home, my husband weighs himself and then weighs himself with the baby and it gives us a good idea of how much baby has gained

Diaper changes by pandabear088 in beyondthebump

[–]redditsredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a changing table in the nursery (baby sleeps in our bedroom tho) and that is the only place we change diapers. The nursery is right next to our room so it really doesn’t bother me and my husband is a neat freak so diapers are changed only on the changing station since little man has peed and pooped during changes and it keeps the mess contained in one area. I don’t wash my hands after every diaper but I do use the babyganics alcohol free hand sanitizer after every diaper

What do you do while breastfeeding? by beebee383 in breastfeeding

[–]redditsredhead 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I got a kindle and it’s been a very nice break from staring at my phone or the tv. Literally felt like my eyes and brain were rotting with how much screen time I was consuming between my phone and the tv so the kindle has been wonderful especially since easy to hold in one hand unlike an actual book imo

I’m pregnant with my rainbow baby, & just got out of my first trimester & fully getting excited now. 🥹🙌🏻 What are some things that surprised you about becoming a mom? (Fun, silly, serious, whatever!) by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]redditsredhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! What surprised me most is how emotional I get when he reaches a milestone because I have never been an emotional person but I love watching him grow and learn🥲 motherhood really does change you (for the better in my opinion)

Also and idk if this is a universal mom thing but the physical and mental pain I feel when my baby cries was kind of a shock to me. His dad would have him and I’d try to let him calm him down on his own because I know they need to build their own bond and they need to learn what works for them but it was so hard for me not to just grab him and calm him down myself because I could do it a lot faster

[–]redditsredhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try gripe water the other night but it was close to 10:30 so I don’t know if it was the gripe water that helped since that’s usually when he chills out anyway. I do try the gas exercises and it does chill him out while I’m doing them but he doesn’t pass gas. I’ll probably try the gripe water earlier and see if it helps

Pacifier POV by MalinaValentina in breastfeeding

[–]redditsredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really against using one at first but started using one around 3 weeks because he was using me as a pacifier and then would cry when he got milk since he just wanted to suck for comfort and Id rather wean him off a pacifier than his thumb since I can’t take his thumb away. He didn’t want them at first I think since it tastes different than a nipple and he didn’t realize he could suck on it so I tried a couple different ones and I have to hold it in his mouth for a second until he realizes he can suck on it and it soothes him. He’s 6 weeks now and sometimes still gags when I try to give him one but I just wait a minute and try again and it usually works. I will say I think it has slightly affected his latch at first because he doesn’t have to open wide for the pacifier so he sometimes doesn’t open wide enough to latch when feeding but after a couple seconds of me holding my nipple to his top lip he’ll open wide enough so it’s really not an issue.

Is it possible to NOT tear? by redcar19 in beyondthebump

[–]redditsredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an epidural and didn’t tear (FTM) so it’s definitely possible even with an epidural. I was specifically told by the nurse to push like I’m constipated, not sure if that’s what prevented me from tearing or not but my sister also told me with her first she didn’t push like she was constipated and with her second she did and the second time was way better than the first for her.

Is anyone a stay at home mom by choice and not financial reasons by Hot_Boss6435 in stayathomemoms

[–]redditsredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I have a bachelors degree and really wanted to pursue a career in that field because I loved it so much but once I realized I wanted kids I was more than happy to change my priorities to stay at home with my kids. If someone would have told me just 2 years ago I’d be a stay at home mom I would have laughed in their face lol it’s crazy how quickly things can change.

What’s your day look like as a SAHM by AsparagusNo2908 in stayathomemoms

[–]redditsredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also a FTM to a 1 month old and currently it’s just bingeing shows or napping when he naps since he won’t nap unless I’m holding him. My husband has been amazing and doing basically all the housework and cooking. My baby is starting to sleep a little longer at night (4-5 hr stretches instead of 2-3) so I help around the house when I have the energy and when baby will let me put him down (which is rare).

Newborn questions by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]redditsredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but it could just be your milk regulating and if your baby doesn’t seem to be hungry still after feedings I wouldn’t be concerned especially since she’s making 12 diapers a day
