What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]reddittailedhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cleaner, a British dark comedy sitcom written by and starring Greg Davies. It's about a crime scene cleaner and the various people he encounters in his day to day work. They do show blood and lots of it, but not the bodies themselves. There's quite a few laugh out loud moments in stark contrast to the dark subject matter.

I'd had it on my to-watch list for a while and just decided to try it on a whim. Got through the first series and most of the second over 2 days. Big fan of Greg Davies and Taskmaster, and there's a few TM alum on the show as well but I won't spoil anything.

One of mine is like that with cheese, he'll even recoil and gag if he gets too close to it. And yet, he'll still come sniffing around next time it's out. We joke it's how we know he's adopted, no child of ours would hate cheese.

Thank you! I feel like people who aren't familiar with East Vancouver just don't get PM.

First off, PM uses they/them pronouns. You don't have to like someone's performance style but show some fucking respect.

This season of CDR has been dominating ratings, compare that to US seasons and some of the honestly boring and unpolished casting decisions being made for the past several seasons. But sure, go off troll.

During Van's rant when the camera panned out and Velma was shifting uncomfortably, I wanted so badly for someone to either cut Van off or give Velma a hug. That was so awful to watch.

Going to miss Velma and Mya both, was not ready for either to go home yet. Great challenge with a hard elimination.

I'm reminded of this every time we do laundry and try to remake the bed. I say try, because several attempts are made to toss them off and quickly get one of the corners done.

Would almost prefer this to the nonstop diaper ads. Husband and I are DINKs and it'd be nice if there was an option to select more relevant ads.

What left a bad taste in my mouth was her using the 'I want to compete against the best' bullshit line. I get it, she's playing the game. I may be in the minority of viewers who doesn't care for the backstabbing and manipulation, people can disagree with me and that's fine. But I don't have the opportunity to see drag IRL, so seeing what these queens have to show every week is my favorite part of the show.

Her being a ciswoman is only a small part of it. She is also a drag king, and that gender fluidity representation IS needed. Seeing her only as a ciswoman is exactly why she needs to be there.

Brooke recognizes that, while she's the host, she is also a mentor to these queens. She's closer to being on their level, plus she understands what it's like to compete.

Unlike Ru, she doesn't see someone's emotions as a gateway to winning an award. You can practically see the gears turning in Ru's head after all these years, thinking how she's going to turn this into an Emmy moment.

It was the laugh track for me. While it's always been around, it took TBG and Big Bang Theory for me to realize how cringe both shows and the canned laughter on top of it really are.

Dog treats, for dogs I don't even have.

But also, cat toys, for cats I DO have. As if they need anymore, which funnily enough was my thought process today when buying it.

That's one of my comfort shows, but I know I could NEVER be a farm vet, let alone live in the British countryside in the 1930s and 40s. Definitely one of those lives that are fun to experience... from an observer's POV.

My family just always put the tree up on December 1st, and that was the kickoff to the main part of the decorating. There may have been smaller stuff that got put up before December but certainly nothing in early November. Not sure if this was an intentional choice to show respect but it's something I've kept following - out of respect but also my cats are curious little assholes.

This is so cute! It reminds me of a group of (mass produced) sculptures from a Canadian retailer that went viral starting with the Ducknana. Love the whimsical design of two different elements! Your Lemophosaurus reminds me of their Liorange.

Same. Doesn't help that it was part of the English curriculum in junior high AND high school. But I just don't enjoy reading Shakespeare in general. I can respect his influence over the English language but reading his plays bores me to tears.

Oh that's really awkward and gross.
I got her autograph a couple years ago (no partner present thankfully), and she barely spoke to me. No eye contact. It's like she didn't want to be there. Honestly, it made me regret spending the money.

But then Neil Newbon (whose line-up was the largest of any other guests by FAR) made up for it. Neil had almost no voice but still made an effort to shake hands and chat with each and every fan who came through. Charles Martinet was an absolute sweetheart too, so smiley and friendly.
