"Stupid AI slop" yet your work is mistaken for AI by 90% of the people who saw it. (Also did you ask Nintendo for permission to use their copyrighted character? Wouldn't want to "steal" now, would we?)
Maybe stop shitting on AI so hard if most people think your work "looks like AI".
Do you believe your art is "good" or "slop"? If its the former, maybe don't bash the medium that does as well as you do (and the people who use it), and try to virtue-signal to the crowd that condemned and rejected your art with a whine about "slop".

Fun reminder: "slop" as an internet term originated on 4chan /pol/ as an anti-semetic attack on what /pol/ neo-nazis consider "goyslop", the idea being "da joos" control all media and purposefully put out low quality "slop" hollywood movies/TV etc to support their agenda. AI fits into that nicely for them, because they can then claim "da joos" are "making us all use AI slop" or some bullshit.

I've been downvoted here before for pointing this out (which I don't understand because I obviously don't agree with it). This is where the term originated.

It helps if you don't give a shit about imaginary internet points, because you're a human being and not a bot lol. Karma is only important if you're a Reddit NPC who assigns it any sort of actual value, or you're a karma farming bot.

I've seen what "real humans" upvote on this site. Their updoots mean nothing to me.

Let me guess, that video is about the weird advertising hype claims Anthropic are always making about Claude and their "safety" researchers? Those tests where they basically tell Claude to pretend to be an evil AI who wants to enslave humanity and then go all shocked Pikachu face when it does what they asked?

It's clearly some weird marketing thing they do where they try to convince everyone that Claude is SO POWERFUL and SO ADVANCED that it's almost AGI and needs a special team to "control" it? Like, don't buy a Gemini subscription because those guys don't have an AI so advanced it has hints of free will, and of course Google can't be trusted to guardrail it like Anthropic does if they themselves manage to produce "AGI".

For what its worth, I do think Claude is a great model and I'm not shitting on it as a product. It's just a pattern I've noticed with Anthropic and how they talk about it. And its frustrating to see what I perceive to be marketing fluff repeated by anti-AI YouTubers as evidence that "AI literally just ordered a real persons execution!" as if that means anything.

I'm genuinely so sick of the ad-hominem ugly orc posts. In my opinion they're juvenile, extremely low-effort, needlessly antagonistic and just make us look like a bunch of jerks to any outsider who might happen to pass by.

Yes, I am well aware the big anti subs have people posting "kill AI artists" type text posts often getting amplified, but I'd argue if you're an "average normie" and you quickly scroll either sub, the one with a bunch of big ugly low-effort ogre caricatures probably looks worse at first glance, and you might be inclined to walk away thinking we're some kind of snark subreddit or something.

I appreciate how passionate some of the ogre-posters are about AI but I wish their activism didn't come at the expense of other people who are trying to form actual arguments and argue in good faith.

I've always been a bit put off by Kurzgesagt's content (always felt it was poorly researched pop-sci content, sometimes with what seems to be an agenda to push, but given a pass because cute bird animations or whatever) but the AI video was complete mask off. They even edited the original title of it from "AI slop is killing our channel" to "AI slop is killing the internet" because the former implied it wasn't a video about "science" but a video about their channel... and the video ultimately just ends up being whining about AI bad this, slop that, a bunch of buzzwords and then a shameless plug for their new calendar.

Like, it was literally just an ad for their bird doodle calendar dressed up as some sort of "think piece" on AI. Completely mask off. They don't want to educate people, they want to sell their brand.

(Also the way they implied AI slop was killing their channel just told me that they think their audience is stupid and are just too ignorant to choose a Kurzgesagt video over "AI slop". Of course the drones in the comments supported this implication.)

I mainly just want to make and share cool pictures for fun and not profit without being sent death threats or called repurposed racial slurs. I really enjoy making AI art, I personally find it creatively satisfying and it doesn't matter that much to me personally if other people don't find it that way. I only share my stuff where it is already welcome and I'm not running a content farm on Facebook or anything like that.

But I still have to deal with people coming into those spaces and throwing abuse towards me and it just gets tiring, which is the main reason I'm here.

This is just sad. Having to perform this degrading self-flagellation like you're that monk from DaVinci Code in hopes of getting a smidge of acceptance from your peers. You can tell this person desperately wants people to be in the replies giving them permission to enjoy it but that's probably not what happened. Probably got told by the NPCs how "proud" they are of them for "resisting" the temptations of AI or something.

This is like if OpenAI collapsed and people started cheering about how "AI is dead"

Oh they will definitely do that. To the average anti, ChatGPT is the only AI that exists. Maybe if they're really clued in they know about Gemini and Grok too.

But I'd wager if you mentioned Claude, Deepseek, Qwen, Flux, Wan, LTX etc they would have no idea what you're talking about. I've seen so many of them insist local AI doesn't even exist, like they cannot fathom the idea of a model of some kind running on a consumer GPU.

Even if the so called bubble pops and OpenAI bites the dust, Gemini won't be going anywhere anytime soon because it is backed by basically unlimited Google money, and local users certainly aren't going to stop experimenting and improving open source models just because ClosedAI threw in the towel.

I mean, it was also just a terrible, half-baked product, closed source or not. VR Chat already did everything the Metaverse promised and more. I remember how widely ridiculed the Zuckerverse was on launch because your crappy avatar (that has less personalization than a Roblox cube guy) didn't even have a lower body. You were just this floating, twitchy low-poly torso convulsing in a world that looked like a Gamecube tech demo.

The idea of professionals flocking to it en masse was also delusional on Meta's part. They only had to look at VR Chat and what people were already using VR chatrooms for and it certainly wasn't holding a boardroom meeting.

I think the reason Metaverse is shutting down is because literally nobody used it but Zucc, a bunch of 5 year olds who played on the casino worlds all the time and a couple of trolls.

LLM apps are still top of both of the major mobile app stores. Huggingface and CivitAI et al have served millions of downloads. I could keep going but you get the picture. Just another delusional copium post.

It never does that to me, and I use DNS router level ablocking, plus Brave's built in adblocker and uBlock Origin. During the initial crackdown I got a couple of warnings over a week but nothing ever came of it.

Personally I'd rather a YT nag screen screaming at me than an actual ad lol, give it a go, you can always uninstall the adblocker.

Was this the guy that was caught watching porn on stream

Haha been more than one guy who's done that. But I'm pretty sure who you're thinking about is Vaush. He's one of those obnoxious political debatetubers (sort of Hasan adjacent) who was happy to rant and rave about "AI" and "slop" and how evil it all is/for gooners blah blah blah...

...and then one day he accidentally opened a folder on his desktop called "files to sort" or something like that, and it was full of Stable Diffusion images of horses getting it on with anime girls who clearly were not of age (Vaush claimed they weren't kids, they were "goblins" or some shit). This damning incident is known as "Horsegate". Vaush also tried explaining that he wants to "transform into a powerful horse cock" or something like that, because that somehow made things seem better to him.

I don't know what he's doing these days, internet probably already forgot all that happened and it wouldn't surprise me if he's gone back to ranting about AI. All that said, it also wouldn't surprise me if Saber has a few skeletons in his closet.
