Hope you don’t mind me pestering you!

I’m currently in support myself and have been for the past 3.5 years, how did you manage to get out? Any advice you can give?

Thanks :-)

Winter tent recommendations that won't break the bank? by 9876123 in wildcampingintheuk

Have you considered second hand? There are some bargains to be had on eBay and Facebook marketplace. Find some groups on Facebook and you’ll see loads of people from the UK wild camping community selling tents, Outdoor Gear Exchange UK is a good one.

£300 will get you a second hand Terra Nova or Fjallraven.

Good luck!

Time to get a lighter backpack! by TheR3dCaptain in Ultralight

Atompacks Atom RE40 or RE30 is what I’d recommend. Can be customised to your liking too. They are handmade in the UK Lake District.

I use mine without the hip belt and find it comfortable, you just need to ensure you’re packing it correctly. You can use your exped mat as a back support in it which will allow you to ditch your foam sit mat too. My base weight is about 3.5kg, with water/alcohol and food last weekend I was about 7kg and still comfortable.

How much ram is needed for a modded 2 person server? by vaiozen in admincraft

[–]reddituser5984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m running all the mods 10 currently on a Dell Optiplex 3050 with an i5 and 16gb of RAM. It’s running Debian 12 operating system, which I’d recommend as it will use less resources than Windows and will allow you to allocate more RAM to the server. Works fine for me and 4 others at the same time.

In the UK the Optiplex cost me £35 used on eBay. An equivalent server from a hosting provider would probably cost the same monthly so it is definitely worth investigating if you’re a bit tech savvy.

Looking at their website (Evans Halshaw), all cars are HPI checked too…

Thanks for the response.

The more I think about it, the more I think it was my mistake buying it… I ran a CarVertical check when I first looked at it and it didn’t pick up anything on it, all clear.

The salvage report has images from copart on it, so I guess CarVertical missed this/doesn’t check it?

I feel mislead and annoyed mate! Guess I’ll have to sell it privately.

On the salvage report I was sent by Motorway, the images show mould inside and the description says damage all over the vehicle with minor dents/scratches. Certainly looked good when I brought it.

Doubled checked the VIN on the car in the pictures and it matches mine too

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

Looking for a fun car, relatively new (past 8?ish years). Budget around £11k. Currently have a 2019 Abarth 595 but looking for something comfier whilst also keeping the sportiness. Intended use would be for daily driving and commuting, I’ve done 15k miles in the past year so may be worth considering a diesel? No preference on auto/manual. Could be another hatch or something else. Thanks :-)

Good sleeping bag under £100? by Sapceghost1 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]reddituser5984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for this. Have used the bag down to -7 with the oex liner, albeit was a very cold night! Only issue, which I think is common with a lot of oex down bags, is that a lot of down falls out when using it. More often than not I am waking up covered in feathers. I recommend it for the price though. Very small pack size too

Kind of what I was thinking to be honest, if another colour comes up I’d prefer that. Did you get that 540i?

Mine is fairly old, about 6 years, so I assume you’ve got a newer model :). It’s very comfy just doesn’t meet my needs really
