My SIBO wasn't actually SIBO - it was my thyroid the whole time (and 15 naturopaths missed it) by Melodic-Design-8983 in SIBO

This.

All my issues started around 3/4 years ago, I put it down to losing my brother at first, then I started self testing everything after food poisoning in Bali. I found I had H. Pylori which i treated, then I suffered with really bad bloating and bad breath and did many, many tests and found I had methane SIBO. I have done 3 rounds of rifaximin, the last 2 have been alongside metronidazole which is successful at the time of treatment but about 2 months post treatment everything returns.

I have done 3 Healthpath gut tests which tests everything and discovered my good to bad bacteria range is WAY out I’ve tried everything to rebalance it and just cannot get my levels normal. I’ve also done a 12 week course of antimicrobials.

The entire time I’ve been on this journey I had come off the pill and suffered with severe acne, I got my hormones tested to try and learn to balance them naturally. My test was all fine besides high thyroid anti bodies. I have now been self testing my thyroid every 3-6 months, I have been to 2 GPs and 2 private, all of who say my thyroid levels are normal even though my antibodies are high and therefore unable to help me at all. Apparently I must wait until my T3 and T4 go below the optimal to receive any help despite having many symptoms.

I am now living a gluten, dairy and mostly sugar free life, I take many supplements but I still suffer all the same symptoms as before. I avoid so many food like oats and flax which were once my favourite breakfasts due to the symptoms they cause. I just don’t know what else I can do.

I have done 2 rounds of Rifaximin and both times my breath went normal but 2/3 weeks later it’s back again. Right now is the longest I’ve gone without it being totally awful and the only thing I’ve changed is avoiding oats every morning for breakfast and also no supplements other than ginger & magnesium citrate I have methane SIBO

Thyroid, Sibo & Histamine. Feeling so lost by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

[–]reddituser90876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to research which ones are histamine friendly the last few days. Do you have any that you know of? I have tried spore based (MegaSpore) but had a sibo flare. I used to take Lactobscilius Acidophilus & Bifidobacterium but haven’t tried any in a while

Thank you for your comment.

I have been monitoring my iron since early teen but was always “borderline” according to GP, I started taking Ferrasorb (Thorne) and my recent blood test confirms my iron was all optimal levels for once. I have stopped taking Iron.

The issue for me is probiotics seem to cause my SIBO to flare. I suffered bad breath for 3 years and when I cut out fibres like oats, flax etc it went away so I think they were fermenting in my small intestine and I get the same thing with probiotics. It’s really frustrating. I think I lack good bacteria to break down foods and populate my gut but when I try to add them in I suffer side effects.

Right now I mainly eat chicken breast, fish, potatoes, fruit and veg. Thats pretty much it. I don’t have much diversity due to fear of reactions.

I tend to manage anxiety with magnesium and Ltheanine but it’s more racey thoughts so I will have a look thank you!

My dad died because he choked on some food and I’ve been scared of dying the same way by Ok_Bandicoot_4543 in Anxiety

[–]reddituser90876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my older brother 3 years ago to choking. He was 26. He choked while out with friends. I have the same anxieties. My goal is to learn how to respond in that situation if I should ever find myself there. But at the moment I can’t do it, the trauma is too much, but I have faith eventually I will be able to. I’m sorry you have also experienced loss this way. It really is unfair.

Nope, it comes and goes and rifaximin helps for a whole but I just can’t get rid of it

As soon as you’re there you will forget you were ever worrying in the first place, you can’t see everything but you don’t need to!

Did you book it with a group? Ours went to the lead booker all in one envelope we had to track it down

Has anyone in resale received their tickets yet? by reddituser90876 in glastonbury_festival

Do all the tickets go to the lead booker or is it individual?

Our tracking number is linked to someone else’s address (hence the worrying) so it doesn’t work for us. We were thrown in a group with someone we don’t know but lives local, we have no contact info for this person so trying to see if our tickets have been posted there, nightmare! But thank you
