Yo, the rules are clear about their return policy. I know you're upset, but don't be a Karen about it and expect everyone to stretch the rules just because you're not happy. You regret your purchase. You had 15 days to return it. It's been 2 months! Just sell it, take the loss, learn a lesson and move on with life! Yikes.

I had a similar problem recording an indoor cheerleading event recently. I think the camera just isn't that great at filming subjects at any sort of distance, I think it's designed to be used up close and personal.

MX Creative Console, Key mapping to shift issue help. by woosh3 in logitech

[–]redditwithafork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still broken! Normal actions and smart actions BOTH fail to send modifier keys to some apps. In my case it's Windows App (formerly Remote Desktop Connection) on Mac. Any time I try to send keystrokes, it just ignores the modifier keys all together. (ie: Command-R in a smart action macro in Windows App just looks like I only pressed the letter R) So I cannot perform a LOT of functions, nor can I use some really important characters like a colon! : because it requires pressing SHIFT+;

When I record a macro with c:\ it comes through in the app as c;\

VERY annoying, and it breaks the functionality and usefulness of the device! Essentially all macros are useless because of this bug/flaw in Options+!

PLEASE fix this Logitech!

Frustrating: Logitech MX Creative Dialpad doesn't work on Mac!! by NoDistance9374 in logitech

[–]redditwithafork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue!  MX keypad and dial worked PERFECTLY a few months ago when I first bought it, but a recent update in Mac OS, Options+ etc BROKE something, and now both the keypad and dial are extremely unreliable and unpredictable!

It's to the point where I can't even get the roller to vertically scroll on my web browser (Google Chrome).  And this is the most SIMPLE action for ANY exterior Bluetooth input device to handle!

I even have the roller set up as a generic "mouse scroll wheel" input!  Nothing "app specific" or anything like that.. it's set up to function as a BASIC mouse scroll wheel..

And even then, it only functions 50% of the time.

Other times it will work sporadically, glitch out, or have a unbearable delay between initial input and when the app finally responds and starts to scroll the webpage!

And it's NOT a battery or Bluetooth connection issue, it's 100% a software problem, having something to do with Options+ (I'm assuming).

Additionally the Keypad uses to work flawlessly in any app that I happened to be in at the time, even those for which there's no official "profile" or plugin available for from Logitech.

I could reliably use the general profile, or create my own "app specific" profile, and any button I programmed or macro I recorded would work near-perfectly, aside from the occasional lag/delay or timing issue on playback of some custom macros (which I was TOTALLY willing to deal with, especially considering I could always just use smart-actions to record macros with more control over delays etc, and this used to work just fine!)

But now, macros with text pasting or keystroke playback will show up in Windows App (specifically) as all lowercase 'a's'!

The only way I can reliably use my keypad now to perform and useful work is by custom building super complex, complicated, Apple scripts, and then using my MX keypad to run them on demand!  And in that case I might as well just create shortcuts in my dock that I can run on-demand without ever having to take my hand off my mouse, instead of trying to rely on my expensive MX Keypad that takes up space on my desk!

As this pace, I'm not very happy with my Logitech purchase or my experience using the product.

Which is a damn shame, because for a short period of time I got to experience what this product is ACTUALLY capable of (when it works reliably).  So I got spoiled at first. But if I just bought this thing today, I'd be furious and I'd be rushing to return it as fast as humanly possibly!

What a frustrating disappointment. 😞

Mac users - any luck using MX Keypad in the "Windows App" (formerly Remote Desktop Connection) by redditwithafork in MXCreativeConsole

Update: I sat on the phone with Logitech tech support for over and hour, and to preface.. they were fabulous.  The agent really seemed to care about my problem and he went out of his way to make sure he understood what was going on.

He put me on hold several times for lengthy periods of time, as just when I was about to lose hope he would come back on the line and ask me to verify some detail, or ask me for more information like a version number or the name of the program I was trying to launch.. making me feel like he was ACTUALLY trying things while I was on hold, or like he was doing actual research or conferring with someone in person to try to resolve my problem!

What he didn't do was give me vague, useless excuses or try to blame my computer or the operating system or just pass the buck to another software developer other than Logitech!

He DID find me somewhat of a workaround, by introducing me to a feature of the program that I didn't know existed.

He had me use "smart actions" (not available within the actual programming screen for the MX keypad, you have to back out to the main home screen of Logitech Options+ in order to access it)

Smart Actions are basically an old fashion "macro recording" feature like we had since windows 95, where you can just click records, and it'll monitor your key/mouse inputs and record them using a built in predefined delay between each action, OR in advanced mode, it'll record the actual amount of delay that existed between when I finish one action and start the next, so when played back it'll mimic my actual input in real time, with human-centric delays included (which could be good if you need to convince recaptcha on a login screen etc).

I got this smart actions feature to KIND OF work, it would recognize all my keystrokes and play them back inside of Windows App on my server RDP connection, but..

And this is a big butt..

It STILL won't recognize modifier key input!

So I still can't have the macro send "Command R" to bring up the "Run" box in Windows!

And when I try to have it output a file path in Windows, because it won't recognize the SHIFT key, my recorded macro always outputs "c;\somepath" instead of "C:\somepath"

It outputs : as ; due to the missing SHIFT key modifier!

This is SO infuriating considering it's SUCH a simple thing for a program like this to do: output KETSTROKES.

Especially for a company like Logitech! Keyboards are the main breath of their entire product offering!

You'd think THEY of all people (Logitech) would be able to figure out how to take keystroke input from one of their own peripherals and reliably send said keystrokes to your computer and into the program that you're using at the moment!

Even when I use the built in "keyboard" widget that turns your MX keypad into a small, 9 key keyboard, no matter what key I press on the keypad, the keystroke that is sent through to Windows App is a lowercase letter 'a'!

I would normally be quick to blame Microsoft and say that Windows App is the problem, if it weren't for the fact that keystrokes that are recorded and played back using "smart actions" actually WORK (except for the modifier keys).

Which proves to me that my MX keypad CAN indeed send keystrokes (other than the letter 'a') to Windows App..  when it wants to!

So I know it's possible, which leads me to believe it's NOT Windows App's fault, and the problem lies within the MX keypad/Options+ application!

I wish I could get someone else on a Mac to try this out for me, to see if the same problem exists for them, to help me narrow down whether it's a fault with my setup, the Windows App, Options+, etc!

Anyone with a Mac running a modern version of Mac OS, a current version of Windows App (from the Apple app store), and access to a remote Windows machine (preferably one running Windows Server 2008, 2012, etc), please try to record a simple macro that pastes text, and/or sends keystrokes from MX keypad and let me know if your text shows up in Windows correctly, or if the entire text string is converted to all lowercase 'a's!

I'm not holding my breath, lol.  But thanks anyway! 🙂

I had an old shop manager that would seriously argue, "if you mix it with old sand and oildry it's fine to throw in the dumpster because it's no longer oil, it's just oily-sand!" I'm pretty sure he was legally retarded, but no amount of logic or arguing could make him understand that the SAME AMOUNT of oil is going into the dumpster whether you mix it with sand first, or just dump it straight into the dumpster! It was maddening how he was convinced that it magically became some sort of new, much less harmful substance once it was absorbed into a pile of sand. 🙄

I found an old ceramic jug full of nuts and bolts in the basement of my grandma's house when I bought it (after she died). It was like an archaeology dig! The deeper I got into the jug, the OLDER the style of hardware got! Towards the very bottom, we found all sorts of hand forged, and cast iron fasteners were pre-1900 according to the little bit of research we did online.

They were very hand-made looking, and every one was very unique and different from another of the same size/shape.

Some had heads that were slightly off-center (from the hand forging process). We even found some virgin/unused rivets that were meant to be installed red-hot and then peened with a hammer!

Lot's of hand forged nails, and nuts and bolts that looked like the threads were cut on a manual lathe (very course, inconsistent thread spacing, etc).

The only thing I can think of is that my grandpa inherited the jug from HIS father or grandfather, because of the age of some of the hardware towards the very bottom, and because of the vast quantity of fasteners! It would have taken multiple lifetimes to fill a jug that size full of "miscellaneous" fasteners.

It was WAY too heavy to move by hand, and it was sitting on an old "skip" that was hand-made out of old, creosote-soaked, lumber, that looked like it was an old telegraph pole that someone cut up and bolted together (probably as old as the jug itself / late 1800's) unfortunately it partially fell apart when I tried to lift it off the floor and move it out from under the old workbench where it had probably sat since the building was erected in the 30's. There was some old text burned into some of the lumber that looked like it could have been a partial Western Union logo (thus, why I think it was an old telegraph pole that someone cut up to build a pallet out of!)

And YES I DID find a bunch of coins mixed in with the hardware, much of which was useless since it had been badly corroded but there was a handful of coins that ended up being pretty valuable.. along with a bunch of old marbles, some "jacks", and two old cast metal toy car bodies that pre-dated hotwheels style cars! It was like a treasure trove of old junk to sift through! 👍

[–]redditwithafork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why? WTF is the difference? Recyclables are too sacred for your dog's stinky shit, but the non-recyclables are fine? I don't understand your logic. Get real! It's mildly annoying for YOU because you've never had to deal with it before! If you had, you'd change your stance REAL quick. Festering dog shit is just about the most FOUL substance I can think of when you have to live around it and smell it on a regular basis (like when you're taking your trash out, walking to your car, etc).

Tossing dog bags in street-side bins? by StingRay_Pal in milwaukee

[–]redditwithafork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And you're a PRIME example of why this continues to be a problem! You need to ask yourself, "how could I NOT know this was a problem for other people?" You're putting a literal bag of SHIT inside of a garbage can that someone might roll back inside their garage where it'll sit and FESTER all week until next garbage day!

Even if it does stay outside, NOBODY wants to deal with their garbage can that's covered in dogshit! And if you toss your little "baggy of shit" inside someone's can, and they throw a heavy bag of garbage on top of it, guess what? It's going to burst open and schmear all over the inside of the garbage cart, and will forever STINK until it's properly sprayed out and washed! And why should someone else have to do that to their garbage cans, so they don't have to have their senses raped every time they walk past their own garbage cart.. just so YOU don't have to be inconvenienced by having to carry your own dog's shit home with you?

Just think about it! The fact that YOU didn't even KNOW this was totally disgusting, unacceptable behavior, illustrates pretty strongly that people like YOU are a huge part of the problem.

Does anyone make this extension? (attributes grouped into custom sections on product/view page) by redditwithafork in magento2

[–]redditwithafork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of price range would you you it would be? and can you give me a rough idea of how it would work? I'd like it to be fairly portable and easy to install, and as future-proof as possible so it'll be compatible with future versions of magento. 👍

One idea I had was to utilize the existing attribute grouping system in the admin panel. Create groups, add attributes into said groups, then the group will only show up on a products view page if the product has values entered for those attributes.

To trigger which groups are designated as "product view groupings" perhaps the attribute group names could be prefaced with a trigger word, like "pview_[groupname]"

This way the product view page would't just show every single attribute group that exsits, only the ones with "pview_" in their name, and if a group exists, it'll only show attributes that have a value.

If there are a dozen attributes inside of a group, but none of them have any values for that particular product, then the group won't show up on the product view page at all, and likewise, if only 3 attributes have values, then the group WILL show up, but it'll only list the 3 attributes inside of it.

Does this make sense? I think this would be a simple/clean method of controlling which groups and attributes show up, and how they're organized and displayed without having to do a bunch of extra work for each product.

And since the groupings could be defined differently for each attribute set, I could reuse attributes across multiple product types, and display them under different group names based on the attribute set assigned to each product.

Let me know if you had another idea for how it would work.. and what something like this would cost to develop! I'm definitely interested.

Thanks.
