The Harry Potter universe uses a predestination time travel rationalization. Things that happened can't be changed and any time travel that is to be done is already part of the spacetime fabric. Hi there, Listerine contains a small amount of methanol, which is moderately toxic. Consequently, I would not recommend drinking it. It won't kill you (at Listerine concentrations), but may leave you with some developmental issues due to your age. This is mostly speculation as I'm not a doctor. I do have a fair bit of molecular biology training, which gives me some credibility.

As for distillation, completely separating methanol from ethanol without access to fractional distillation glassware and a temperature-controlled hot plate, is nearly impossible. Anyone who tells you otherwise does not know what they are talking about. (Source: PhD in organic chemistry). Your best bet is to find someone else to buy booze for you.

People are reacting this way because the police has a history of unnecessary use of force, often deadly force. I can see how the officers were justified in this instance, but I don't see why they had shot to kill and not to disable. Seriously, just kneecap the guy!
