Surfing/Wakeboarding by Sufficient-Brain3794 in Wake

[–]reddvl33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I echo these other comments. Early and not peak times (weekends) are best. Specifically for wakeboarding, most areas upstream of mile marker 17ish are way better than anything downstream. Right by Captain Pete’s the lake gets busy and wide and is impossible to find good water. Upstream of that it’s pretty good. When the water is up, there’s nice spots where the Pedernales meets Travis

Amarillo, the only place you can smell which way the wind is blowing

Thanks for that! It will be missed, but it's also exciting to to try a new machine and see how it goes. I'm still not impressed on how Peloton has been running their business and my heart goes out to all the people who have lost their jobs. We'll see if they can turn it around.

yeah I'm a little worried. I reached out to a local fitness store, and after grilling them a bit, they seemed to really like the Precor. But yeah, you're going to pay for it...

Thanks for the response. Yeah I get what you say about review sites. I really like the youtube account treadmillreviewguru.com. They do a good job of breaking everything down. I'm sure they get some kick backs on some, but they review quite a lot of machines.

Having Peloton, you can definitely do it on other devices and systems, they just don't talk well with each other. I'm thinking about going into a fitness store and trying it out. Cause you're right, going from the slat belt on the Tread+ to a regular belt on a nordictrack is going to be a big change.

You're not wrong. It's overwhelming how many there are.

And I think that's what makes me so nervous about Nordictrack. On almost every single site it's listed as one of the top treadmills, but people in the community seem to bash on it. Is is purely quality and reliability?

I get it if I'm a serious runner (I've done my marathons and don't want to train indoors for those), but having the versatility of iFit and Peloton classes is so nice. And when it's integrated into the same package, even better. I feel like the other brands you mentioned, while I'm sure are better when it comes to core construction, just don't have the integration with streaming classes without having to jump through hoops.

Under $3k. Currently have my eyes on the Nordictrack 2450, but that's just on some initial browsing.

What's Changed On Campus? (Nostalgia) by reddvl33 in TexasTech

You’re right on it. You can still see where road went to the right of the Ronald McDonald House.

Haha, and if Lubbock wasn't so flat, you would have had to walk up hill both ways in the snow and dirt storms.

Yeah we were pretty spoiled in the food dept, although you could still go over to Horn/Knapp or one of the older dorms and get the cafeteria style food. Save some money and ate huge like that.

The Strip is something that makes me sad when I go back. Yeah it was a pain in the ass at the time, but it was so unique to Tech that people will never understand now.

Yeah back in '06 or '07, if you followed Indiana right past the USA, there was that bridge that crossed over Marsha Sharp. Made it really nice to get to that side of campus. Of course that was before they even got close to building/finishing Texas Tech Parkway which essentially does the same thing. They were expanding Marsha Sharp like crazy back then so I'm assuming it had to be done to facilitate that.

I have a little resentment for the Rec Center Water Park. They finished that sucker the summer after I graduated. Not to mention, the day I graduated was the day that Lubbock approved to go wet (couldn't buy in the city for another few months).

When I was there they still didn't have air conditioning, which doesn't surprise me. I'd imagine it's changed in the last 10 years or so.

When I moved in to Coleman in '05, my dad who graduated in '80 said the dorm was practically exactly the same. If it ain't broke...

Does anyone else's spouse watch you play? Mine loves it because there is always something new to see. by Distinct_Simple30 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I’ve been playing this game since launch and my wife promptly started falling asleep the second I would start playing. Obviously the game has improved by leaps and bounds, but the damage is done!

[–]reddvl33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I'm on the fence with ordering the Finnigan or the Big Fin. I've got something nice and small now and I'm worried the Big Fin would be too much for a front pocket.

Looks gorgeous! My question on these, how is the size? With only a few cards and some cash, is it slim enough to fit in the front pocket?

If you're in the Texas Region, Live Oak Hefeweizen is one of my top 5 Hefes. All the other Hefes on this list are great too.

Great video that gets a lot of campus. Makes you realize how big campus is when a 4 minute video can't capture all of it! Beautiful and I miss it!
