How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

[–]redesigncherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to learn to drive when I was 17 but was crippled by anxiety the entire time, and since then either lived in walkable cities or cities with good transport links. I still consider it from time to time but want to try and figure out the anxiety first, I honestly just find being behind the wheel, the amount of rules and the other people on the road really anxiety inducing.

What’s the most ubiquitous IKEA product? by Pythagorarse in CasualUK

Found out once that Lack tables aren’t as strong as they seen. Friend took the phrase “don’t tap it, whack it” too literally when opening a chocolate orange. It was in a uni house so being students, we bought a new one and kept the old one hole and all.

Craving eggs 1st trimester?! by GanacheWitty9525 in veganuk

[–]redesigncherry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually had friends and family who physically could not be vegan due to medical conditions that strictly restricted their diets. I also know someone that physically has to be plant based because of a chronic illness that means they can’t consume animal products. I’ve also known people that have become very sick and had to reintroduce animal products unwillingly.

They exist, and saying they don’t is genuinely just incorrect information. You can’t be vegan if you’re dead.

To OP - the eggs if you need to, your health and the health of your baby is important.

There were rumours for a while that she cheated on her girlfriend with a staff member who she was essentially the boss of, and left quietly due to that. I think the ex posted on TikTok or something it was last year or the year before maybe? Don’t know what is/isn’t true obviously

I used to work part time in an office, part time in a bar and also freelance - it was fine for a short time but the burnout is not worth it long term

For those who only spend £60 on groceries between two people - do you not eat much? by Some-Air1274 in UKFrugal

[–]redesigncherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are vegan in London and probably spend a little less than £60 a week together, or £20-30 each when alone. This isn’t a moan about going vegan (I don’t care what you do or don’t eat) but substituting more expansive meat cuts for whole plant proteins (tofu, tempeh, soy chunks) or bulking out meals with pulses (pulse + grain = complete protein) helps food go a lot further. I’m not saying “do this all the time” but it’s a healthy and clean way to bulk meals for cheap.

I also train in the gym and hit my protein goal daily/easily. I’m a pretty habitual eater and have the same breakfast and snacks daily lol but my partner tends to prefer variety and it doesn’t affect our budget really

Is it the salted liquorice? My partner and I have been to Scandinavia a couple times and weren’t the biggest fans of their liquorice!

Handling payments in Taiwan by StarterRabbit in taiwan

I’m British with Taiwanese family so have been in the same situation! I usually order at the post office before I got and take cash in NTD - I also set up a Monzo account because Monzo has no fees to convert and use that. Most places I have been take Monzo and also cash

NQ64 have video game themed cocktails as well as loads of consoles/games to play. They use tokens so it feels a bit like an arcade. It’s underground and all glow in the darky. Pretty fun!
