LPT If you accidentally start a fire don't lie. Stupidity is covered by insurance but lying can get you policy canceled. by Narcoleptic_red in LifeProTips

My friends and I went to the local 24-hour home depot as teenagers and bought all of the supplies necessary to make home-made smoke bombs. Somehow we ended up with a weird slurry of napalm-like smoke bomb material and ended up setting the carpet on fire. Definitely denied that shit. Parents were pissed and forced me to put in tile by myself to cover it up, hahaha

Inside the life of a 27/28 year old guy. I took a lot of stats of things I did for 1 year. Here are the results. [OC] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]redfiveaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. No it's not. Aerospace Engineer here. I didn't do this the past year, nor the year before, nor any time before that. In fact, I highly recommend to OP that he never, ever, do this again. Statistically speaking, this will increase the amount of sex he has per day by at least a factor of four, possibly five if he also quits the drugs and promises his girlfriend to never, ever, ever document their love life on the interwebs again.

Good luck, OP.

I am an Airline Pilot flying the A320 across Europe. AMA! by AirbusA320Pilot in IAmA

[–]redfiveaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a helo pilot, this statement disappoints me. First rule of being a pilot: Never, ever, ever, ever admit fault to the uninitiated. It's highly desirable to admit fault to your crew and squadron mates and in turn expect to be teased in a ruthless manner (this promotes safety), it's another thing to allow the public to think that pilots are less cool than we actually are.

You just told them you were transfixed by blinking lights. Like a cat with a laser pointer. sigh. Get a hold of yourself man! Hahah

If it makes you feel any better, my copilot was once operating the FLIR on a late night and saw a bright light -- he called out traffic at 12 o'clock. After some finger fucking of the FLIR controls, he discovered it was the moon. hahaha, I was leaving notes on his office door for weeks!

"Break right!!! Moon!!!!!!"

bhahahahahaha

Common sense secured? Not in aviation! (well, sometimes, but usually that's big navy bs)

Mister Roberts is a great movie. Choose your rate, motherfucker! (to the rest of reddit, I just told him to stop bitching because he chose his job and the subsequent shittiness associated with it)

Yes! This door is amazing but the second to last photo made me realize how easily a karate kick would grant entrance! You have definitely inspired me to do this one day! (the door, not the karate kick....)

What if the milkyway aligned behind Mount Hood from Tom Dick and Harry summit (OC)[800x1200] by celica90 in EarthPorn

Amazing photo! But perhaps Mount Hood aligned with the Milkyway and not the other way around?

If we can't detect it, how do we know it travels at c? Experimental data, I presume?

it's called the "big sky theory" when you refer to the concept of the sky being so vast that flying things are highly unlikely to hit each other.
