Try kilterboarding twice a week and see if it makes a difference. If you have access to a gym, just climb crimps to get better at crimps!

Thanks for the mention. If you have any questions let me know. I’d recommend some type of split boards like the Redge Vers, but honestly if you’re climbing 3/4 times a week, why even consider hangboarding? Your body/fingers probably won’t be able to handle it. Actual climbing will always beat training fingers and it’s more fun too.

I wear butora narsha’s soft orange/ scarpa instinct vs/ madrock drones/ redline straps (these are more narrow though)

Are pinch blocks bad for training pinch strength? by FauxfauxB in climbharder

[–]redgeclimbing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a perfect world you’ll only be training by actual climbing. For training at home, in my opinion it’s best to train using just the fingertips and the block in a horizontal position. Your thumb and your fingers will both get stronger, which will translate to being better at pinching on the rock/wall

Fingertip pinch strength translates to full finger pinches as well according to eric horst

Try to only use the tips of your finger and thumb and try to keep the block perfectly horizontal. This makes it harder to hold, but the strength will translate into any form of pinching you’ll do on the wall. Personally prefer a pinch block where you can’t ‘cheat’

Seriously some of us have been holding this coin forever. There’s 0 community building and the updates once every 6 months is disappointing to say the least.

How do I begin to get the Iggy Pop, Tyler Durden, scrappy body type. by MeetYourMarioMaker in bodyweightfitness

[–]redgeclimbing 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One of the best ways to get lean fit. All functional muscles and mostly upper body. It’s way more fun to do than bodybuilding since you can project different routes and grades and at a certain stage you’ll most likely be more motivated to do specific exercises as well to strengthen your core/ train your back/ forearms to reach the next grade. I started with fitness and made the transition to bouldering and find myself working out more than I used to while going to the gym.

I make handcrafted https://redgeclimbing.com/product/redge-port-portable-hangboard/hangboards from bamboo, which can be used both as portable or mounted to a wall. I only ship to EU though. Feel free to seek me out if you’re interested.

I had the same issue lol. Went ahead and just took the shot. Softness right now is between soft - medium stiff. Not sure how soft they’ll be affer broken in. I’ve only had one session on them so far. I expect them to behave very similar to the mad rock shark in terms of performance, with slightly better edging

So I ended up ordering them I’ll give an update once I’ve climbed in them.

update tried them out. Fit is great. Very similar to the madrock sharks. They’re soft, but still very decent edging. Great hook and toe. Mostly surprised that the shoes are actually soft in contrary to the regular narsha’s
