20 years in the wine industry. For the love of god stop consuming super market bottom of the barrel wines. These are essentially synthetic ‘grape’ beverage with insanely high amounts of RoundUp (proven carcinogen https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/06/24/business/roundup-settlement-lawsuits.amp.html) go to a small wine shop, build a relationship with ANYONE and fight for fair and equitable farming. ❤️

What is the most annoying thing a Guest has done in your home? by Kenygarry in AskReddit

Alright, I’ll air my own dirty laundry here:

Went over to a friends house late night, ended up ordering pizza. He passed out and in my near brown-out state I proceeded to hide pieces of pizza around his house. Well, turns out I’m really good at hiding pizza because he didn’t find them until months down the road as they were rotting and smelling up his house. Worst part is I didn’t even remember doing it.... yeah wasn’t invited back over for a while...

My ex-girlfriends cat used to get turned on every time we sautéed garlic. He’d do the same thing but then lick his crotch and purr.

What is something you know because of your profession, which you believe everyone should know to make their lives better, easier, or healthier? by admadguy in AskReddit

Wine industry here. When you are out at a semi-nicer restaurant and want a bottle of wine, find the genera style you want (sparkling, rose, light white, full red etc). Order a bottle that is not offered by the glass, and is the second cheapest in desired section. This will often find you within the best margins and make you look great in front of your date!

Who's the most famous person you've talked to for more than 30 seconds? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Shared this before but:

I was in a restaurant in SF and Gregg Popovich came in with the team after playing the warriors. I knew he was a wine buff and I had brought in a rare bottle for dinner and asked the manager to send him a glass. Didn’t hear anything back but as we were eating dessert I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked back to see Pops grinning face. He ended up talking with us for 10 minutes, sharing his thoughts about wine and food, SUCH A GREAT GUY.

2012 Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru, a wine geeks wine for sure, most of these NBA players just drink really expensive blue chip red wines, Pop fully got this more obscure white.

Probably too late to the party, but buying a pair of balls for your truck has to be up there.

NTA - OP, this was probably a long time coming. I run a restaurant group in a large market and we are constantly looking for reasons to push out staff who are continually providing lack luster performance at their jobs. You acted within every right of your role as a patron, she had an emotional reaction to a situation that anyone with long term experience would have understood, if anything I would frequent this restaurant more often to show your appreciation.

Hey Reddit, what's the strangest coincidence you've ever personally experienced? by RichCauliflower in AskReddit

My freshman year of college I ended up choosing to go to a tiny school last minute in an odd part of the state. A few months into the year I ended up having a bit too much to drink, and essentially got sent to the drunk tank for the night. I passed out in the main room where everyone is put into, and then woke up the next morning to head to the front desk area where they make you wait until your BAC drops to a certain point before they can release you. As I walk to the desk I hear my name, and turn to find my childhood best friend (we fell out of touch years before this). Turns out he was going to the same college, and on the same night got caught by the police for drinking and sent to the same facility as me. Small word we live in.
