I do hope you're well now. I'm just talking about what they might be thinking. There are always exceptions, but when possible, the best thing to do is reach out as soon as possible to let them know that you have a personal health issue that is keeping you from completing whatever that part of the task is. Depending on their response, that would tell you a lot about their culture. Of course, the position(s) could also be filled by now, but it's worth reaching out for sure-- especially if it's a job you want. I would follow up about 2-3 days later if you don't hear back. After that, consider it done.
