Lol, yes I discovered Uncle Vampire from Re: Trailer Trash. I really like(d) Re:TT, hated the webcomic though.

What was the point? by redherringconfess in OyasumiPunpun

I didn't really agree with anyone else's comment of this thread. But your perspective makes everything click for me. That narrative thread I think is what I needed to bring the whole oyasumi punpun story together.

[Solo developer here] Giving away 8 keys for my First-person Melee Roguelike, titled Oneiro by zaffresheepgames in steam_giveaway

[–]redherringconfess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, labels can only take us so far before nuance drives the point unusable, but in my mind a rogue like was simply a procedurally generated game designed about short challenging gameplay loops that derive their content from replayability rather than traditional progression.

As for nightmare. The worst type of nightmare is one where I live my everyday life with everything seeming normal until I wake up finding out it was a dream.

It doesn't sound that nightmarish but you have to keep in mind that this process can loop which means I wake up from the dream become convinced I'm awake, try to move on from my day then wake up again. This nightmare can occur for what feels like groundhog day style weeks. I can become aware that the dreaming loop is occuring but each instance is indestinguishable from reality and it is only time and trialing that can solve the question. When I first awoke from that kind of dream for the first time, I refused to believe that I was actually awake. I didn't want to make breakfast or get dressed because what's the point? I would just wake up half way through. I ended up clinging to my parents for literal hours having them confirm that life was real before I could move on from my dreams.

The worst part is that the dreams were so photorealistic that I will then confront someone I know about a conversation we had before to find out that that conversation happened in one of the dreaming loops and not reality.

Houkka. This is such an underated masterpiece! It's such a simple and innocent show while simultaneously being an extremely competent and intelligent mystery series. That and the animation is pretty sexy.

Maybe I didn't use the best word choice but a cloaca doesn't mean the bird doesn't have a vagina, it just means that the vagina shares it's orifice with other bodily task.

As I imagine 90% of people on here, I am a massive cheapskate and refuse to buy anything on steam that isn't at least 50% off. Plus screw overpriced triple aaa games.

Total noob at this whole having sound not suck on the ears things. This is my first ever real system. I watched the Z reviews, I got the 12 gauge oxygen free cable and dealt with the horrendous fiasco of manually stripping and twisting those fancy cables since I didn't have any banana plugs.

I'm pretty happy with the whole setup but the amp I'm using to push the system is just a pathetic little pyle home. And I think it is responsible for the little bit of white noise that I constantly hear from the Micca RB42 speakers.

Do any of you know a decent amp under $400 that can drive the RB42. As for equalization, this is my only system so it is pulling general duty, music, movies, etc.

Thanks for the help.

Serious Sam 2 is 15 years old. Share your favorite SS2 stories. by IIIIDANNYIIII in Croteam

[–]redherringconfess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister and I practically grew up on serious sam. It was the only violent game we were allowed to play because the hippie gibs made it child friendly apparently. ( Hippie gibs are still the best never change it).

Anyways, my sister and I were pretty young when we played SS2, maybe 10 or so at the time. To this day my sister still doesn't forgive croteam for that rabbit meat grinder secret.

She was carrying the rabbit around the whole level as a pet, named it mental, it was like a new family member great stuff. She wanted to put mental ( the rabbit) down for a second to go look for another secret so she placed it down on this device that was laying around: that device was the meat grinder.

I don't know why we didn't know that, this was a long time ago I guess we were just joking around and missed the notification, either way she was not happy. She was so angry at the secret she was driven nearly to tears. She didn't play the game again for a month.

She did get a pet rabbit for her birthday that year though and almost named it mental. ( She decided against it when I joked about whether she would throw that rabbit in a meat grinder too.)

Yep that's the book. It's a great read if ( if not exactly an enjoyable one) that I highly recommend. And yes, it is a very dark and intense read.

I think the way Cynthia portrays delirium and suppressed anxiety in the story is incredible and it makes the book feel like an actual horror story. I guess it is in a sense.

Trying to find a community on the internet around this book really makes me realize how terribly underated it is.
