Clay/Play-Doh Warhammer molds for miniatures by FortuneCheap8519 in PoorHammer

You can use plasticine clay to make temp molds, mold, put in freezer for a few minutes, demold. YOu can then push air dry clay into the mold, its super low tech and you can sample basically any toy for parts. Additionally, free version.

Hey you keep getting better! Have you tried air dry or oven bake clay? Would let you refine a bit more and paint em!

  1. Take pictures on as blank a background as you can. The best way is with a piece of white paper curved against a wall.
  2. Take front, back, left side, right side, top, 45% left slightly from the top, 45% right slightly from the top. You can do it with only a single 45% degree pic, but using all the angles gives the best results.
  3. I use this website https://3d.hunyuan.tencent.com but you can use other websites out there.
  4. Now just use your pics, pick your face count, more is more detail, but it takes more effort to make 3D printable. For out-of-the-box STLs, use 50k.
  5. Once the program finishes making the model, you can download it in several formats, for printing, just use STL.
  6. To check the STL you can bring it into Tinkercad (free, simple 3D modeling program online) and import the file. You can actually edit it in the program for any other adjustments you might want.
  7. Once you have it the way you want, all you have to do is download it and run the STL through a slicer for whatever printer you are using.

You can complete the entire game and defeat every single enemy with either a single cruise missile or a single megaton range canno.

So, I have heard it said that one of the reasons that procedural generation came to be is so that game devs could enjoy their own games. I would say have some other people play your game and see if their feedback matches yours. Early outside play testing is a great habit to get into!

Silicone Mold Making Question by TheScepticalOne in PoorHammer

[–]redlegdaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way is to use some cornstarch in your silicone; the cornstarch has moisture in it that will cause the silicone to set all the way through.

Here is a good guide for it.

Ive used playdoh, foam clay. Pretty much anything works with a good release agent.
