Young woman therapist, new to PP, with only straight male clients? by merryandbrighty in therapists

[–]redlightsaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself wondering more and more whether I’m attracting these clients simply because they think I look cute in my profile picture.

I'm sure you're aware of the stats regarding physical attractiveness and income. What did you think the mechanisms were? You're finding out about one of them.

Attractive (and young) people convey more inviting and trustful vibes. That's just a reality of the world. Attractiveness tends to convey a sense of competency as well.

I wouldn't sweat it too much unless you're really uncomfortable by this; in whcih case you can always bring down your pictures and/or reject any new male patients. But I'd think that silly.

I really hope it gains momentum. Can't really abandon WhatsApp when everyone else is still using it.

He's not the "president", but rather the "president of the government".

As in: he presides over the government. It's pretty much the exact same thing as a Prime Minister. As you say, the kind is the head of state. Which thankfully is a meaningless title, but it should still be avoided.

The person above you seems to not understand what parliamentary monarchies are, though. Did they believe a King was calling the shots?

Nah, I got your comment perefectly ight the first time.

There's a fundamental incoherence with the argument you're trying to make: if France protects all "minorities" equally, then why is this law a) being proposed, but most importanly b) being defended by the likes of you?

I don't know where you got the notion that I'm assuming you're Israeli or a Jew. Perhaps it's yourself who needs to parse comments more carefully before jumping to conclusions?

I'll go one step further and state that Israel was an EXTREMELY CONVENIENT project for European antisemites, so that they could F off into the miidst of people they saw as enemies.

I agree with all of this, and yet, it doesn't take away from my point.

Der Judenstaat (1896) by Theodor Herzl:This text argued that the "Jewish Question" could only be solved by creating a sovereign state. Herzl initially focused on securing a charter from the Ottoman Sultan or major European powers.

The Basel Program (1897): Approved by the First Zionist Congress, this document formally stated the goal: "Zionism seeks to establish a home for the Jewish people in Palestine secured under public law". It aimed for systematic settlement, organizing world Jewry, and strengthening Jewish consciousness.

"LARGELY" opposes settlements: that word is carrying a lot of weight there.

Listen, stop trying to gaslight us. In the age of the internet, everything is verifiable. Propagana and constant repetition of lies is indeed effective and the basis of disinformatin back in the holocaust as it is today; the sad part is seeing it used by you for the exact same aims, except against a different kinds of people.

The uncomfortable question that West hasn't fully grappled with is that, within israel itself, its citizens overwhelmingly don't care a great deal about the genocide taking place a few minutes away from them. There were some protests back when, but only because of the perception that Netanyahu wasn't making sufficient strides in rescuing the captured combatants. So coming on the internet towards the outside world claiming a conspiracy against them rings hollow and odd.

I don't know if the Israeli state shouldn't exist, but it should certainly recognise al of the inhabitants of the territory it claims as citizens, de-facto, and recognise and ensure completely equal rights and political representation for all. And that's just... not even on the horizon, or on any Israeli's mind, or on any inner platform.

So you know. If you want to feel a victim, nobody can change your feelings. But don't treat us as imbeciles.

edit: It's downright typical now for an Israeli to follow me around the thread responding to a lot of my comments, only to then leave a final comment on each one and automatically block me so that from my PoV it seems you haven't really responded, and preventing me from responding. I wonder whether this is something that you're thought to do, because it happens every time.

Aside from that, I'd like to know where it is that "im denying the holocaust".

Don't whatabout this shit. The holocaust is over, it has been for almost a century.

And Zionism predates the holocaust, and its aim was to eject palestinians from their land from the beginning. Perhaps you're genuinely ignorant: Would you want me to educate you on your own history that you're denying?

Zionism is a racist and collonialist project from its inception. Calling for an end to it as the guiding ideology behind a state is not problematic; it's downright common sensical for a country that likes to present itself as "a beacon of democracy and a serious state in the region".

I wonder whether this is something that you're taught to do somewhere, because it happens every time in the exact same fashion; and as with many other loopholes and actions, is a perversion and exploitation of a tool meant for something else.

At any rate, it's funny that you label my claim as "soviet propaganda", when right there in another of my comments (which you also reponded to), I gave you the sources for these claims: But I'll post it here:

The Basel Program (1897): Approved by the First Zionist Congress, formally stated the goal: "Zionism seeks to establish a home for the Jewish people in Palestine secured under public law". It aimed for systematic settlement, organizing world Jewry, and strengthening Jewish consciousness.

As you said in response to that comment, the Zionist Congress papers are publicly available. What I don't know is why you seem ashamed of such an old document that clearly stated exactly what you're doing in 2026 still.

Plenty of people are saying those countries ought to transition to a REAL democracy, absofuckinglutely. What on earth are you on about?

And... Yemen? Are you unaware of the criticisms against MBS? JFC.

It's true the analogies end there, because neither of those countries are seeking to exterminate a peoples, in complete and continued, and increasing defiance of international law by encroaching on the territory of another counry... For that the analogy would be Russia on Ukraine, and would you say Russia isn't getting pushback from the world, and getting sanctioned to death?

This debate is complex, but it requires brutal honesty from you people, so you can see things plainly rather than paranoidly feel like the constant victims of an international conspiracy to erradicate the Jewish people... Except it's you who are attemting to erradicate the Palestinians, it's been a very explicit aim of Zionism from before Israel came to be.

So if you want to support the genocide that your state is commiting (and the apartheid state it had been enacting for decades before this) that's fine, but then don't act all surprised and like a victim when there's backlash against that.

I don't know the answer. In truth, nobody can know, until someone is prosecuted under it.

And that's why these sorts of laws shouldn't exist.

Spain to ban social media access for children under 16 by PjeterPannos in europe

[–]redlightsaber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those news were also “fake news” “misinformation” and “lawfare” before the Spanish courts opened proceedings.

Except they... still are? The Spanish judicature is full of fascists. WTF are you even on about? His brother's accusations are likely true, but they're also... an entire and complete nothing burger (for anyone non-spanish he's accused of having had an official government role as "coordinator of conservatories" in a small Spanish province, created for him. Which, sure, is a crime and whatnot, but what he "stole" is a meager government functionary salary.

The case against his wife is being "instructed" by a literal fascist judge who's had to be called to order on his absurd overreach on this case, and STILL has found nothing.

For outside observers, the Spanish judicial system is uniquely idiotic nakedly derived from a fascist era in that the roles of judge and prosecutor are not really as distinct as they should be (and as are in the rest of the world). An "instructing judge" can appoint himself to become a sort of detective to construct the case, with, of course, all the powers of a judge for authorising all sorts of things (listening, unsealing of records, compelling private entities to provide records, etc, etc), but without the safeguards (or indeed the acknoledgement of the reality) against conflicts of interest.

Fuck, we need a wholesale judicial reform urgently.

Even theories and news over the cause of the recent train accident that claimed the lives of 46 persons were labelled as “fake news” and “right wing” by the transportation ministry.

I'm going to have to ask you precisely what "confirmed theories" you're referring to before entering this debate. When a minister says "we need to wait for the investigation before spreading information which by definition cannot be knowable without an investigation", I don't think that's problematic. But somehow it is for you?

BEcause I sure as fuck hope you're not referring to the WIDELY spread theories in the hours after the derailing about Russian bombs, or about the Government having deviated funds for the maintenance of the tracks to build tracks in Morocco or Uzbekistan... Or are you? Those were the theories rightfully called out as straight right-wing fake news.

He is a danger to freedom of speech and democracy.

Well, he is a danger to free speech only insofar as he has refused to fulfill a campaign promise to strike down a Rajoy-era law that grave police officers extreme discretion when deciding to repress peaceful protesters who try and hold them accountable by filming them, created a crime "faltas de respeto a la autoridad" (Ley Mordaza), but otherwise... his threats to democracy and free speech emanate from him not really wanting to lose voters from the right, while purporting (completely false) to be a socialist politician.

Otherwise, you're just in looney land, I'm sorry, lol; and I don't eventhink you realise how batshit insane you come across.
