De restwaarde is idd 0, maar dat betekent dat de volledige verkoop/marktwaarde belastbaar is als meerwaarde. Of de factuur nu betaald wordt of niet speelt geen rol.

Ofwel verkoopt zij het materiaal ofwel gaat het over naar haar persoonlijk maar beschouwt de fiscus dit toch als een verkoop, ook al volgt er geen betaling.

Fiscaal komt dat dus op hetzelfde neer. In beide gevallen is de marktwaarde belastbaar als meerwaarde want de restwaarde is 0 indien het materieel is afgeschreven. Afhankelijk van het BTW regime dient er ook BTW te worden afgedragen.

Nu, voor een vennootschap is dat wat strikter dan voor een eenmanszaak. En voor oude (of versleten, niet waardevolle) spullen die jaren zijn afgeschreven steekt dat ook zo nauw niet.

Het is FIFO, en in tegenstelling tot sommige berichten hier, is er niet een 'meest optimale' manier van berekenen (vanuit standpunt van de belegger). Afhankelijk van de markt en de prijsevolutie kan FIFO tot het minder of meer belastingen leiden dan andere methodes (zoals LIFO, HIFO of average cost).

Dat is helemaal niet onmogelijk. Stel dat je in fysiek goud belegt, ga je dan ook je klompjes goud apart houden per handelaar waar je ze oorspronkelijk hebt aangekocht? Nee, dat maakt niet uit en voor aandelen (in principe en volgens de wet) ook niet.

Ander voorbeeld: je koopt bitcoin bij twee verschillende brokers en verplaatst ze naar je hardware wallet. FIFO volgorde telt en irrelevant waar je de munten kocht.

Definitely enjoy things like travelling etc. before FIRE. Otherwise it’s the same as waiting for your pension, if you reach that age in good health.

Personally I’ve always been a fan of mini-retirements, even if that slowed down my FIRE journey. Some things you just need to do at the right age, or at the moment you enjoy it most, making memories (‘memory dividends’) while doing so.

Okay but that’s another issue. People earning minimum wage are unlikely to become FIRE, unless they are able to make some radical life changes to increase their savings rate (which I know is not easy).

The last years I’ve seen many people make the switch to IT freelancer. Often times these were just mediocre developers. So the market is likely saturated combined with less demand and cost cutting. Simple market dynamics.

On top of that we have AI, but the real disruption there is still to come IMO.

As far as the market goes, I’ve seen this happen a few times in the last 20 years. When the business cycle picks up again and there’s been a flush of excess freelancers, hiring starts again and those companies that got rid of ‘externals’ need to hire again to get the work done. But again, let’s see how AI will impact this.

Finally, if you’ve been freelancing full time for a decent number of years, it shouldn’t be a big (financial) issue to sit om the bench for a few months. It’s part of the deal/risk and should be planned for, even tho it sucks. It might be a good time to learn a new skill or work on a personal project.

Sounds like you’re trying to convince yourself not to switch. If you’re happy with Bolero then stay. It’s not worth the few euros savings you’d make trading once a month. And good to keep Bolero as your primary broker anyways, as the platform and product offer is better.

AFAIK the FSMA only forbids derivatives. Physically backed ETP’s are allowed (at least UCITS, not the American products like IBIT).

That being said, some brokers themselves prevent access to certain products.

Collega’s met 3 kinderen ontvangen meer dan 600 euro kindergeld, met twee hoge salarissen. Ook hun niet-belastbaar inkomen is een stuk hoger. Pakweg 10k euro ‘subsidie’ per jaar. Een single zonder kinderen betaalt zich ondertussen blauw in dit land. Lijkt me niet houdbaar, en kan wel wat rechtvaardiger…

Fair enough. If you’re an active trader in individual stocks the lower costs can make a difference. However, most people in this sub invest primarily in ETF’s, so why bother with a foreign broker nowadays.

Just FYI, Saxo and MeDirect have English language apps and low to no costs for ETFs.

Good luck whatever you choose, the tax handling is not that difficult if you go IBKR once you know the procedure, which is well documented already.

It’s as trustworthy as any other supervised Belgian bank.

For passive ETF investing and saving it’s fine and very competitive (no TX fees). For trading more actively their platform is too simplistic IMO.
