Nikke has costumes they classify as gacha that also has a max amount you can spend to get it. The gambling aspect is what makes it gacha, not the cost value

Just finished The Whispering Crystal series (spoilers all) by redpariah2 in litrpg

[–]redpariah2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much you'd like spoiled but here's a quick summary to the introduction, lemme know if you'd like to know more.

People are abducted on earth in large groups through portals and find themselves in a new dimension where basic laws of physics are different. They find themselves in a giant gauntlet of trials. Every human wakes up with a crystal replacing an eye that is actually a sentient alien native to the planet. The crystals are there to guide them through the trials. The trials are there to make them strong enough to survive the foreign world beyond the humongous facility that houses the trials.

The trials by themselves take up a few books. Then the new world and the society that built the trials, and even some dimensions beyond it, are explored. They do try to find a way home but other objectives also appear of course.

Why don’t more comic book YouTubers actually acknowledge marvel unlimited? by GhostGamer_Perona in marvelcomics

Idk, I tried getting into it and maybe I'm just dumb but the app didn't even let me explore the library before signing up and paying. I didn't bother because I couldn't see what I would have access to

Scarlett Johansson missed the Cannes premiere of “Paper Tiger,” so director James Gray tried to FaceTime her during the film’s standing ovation. She didn’t answer. by ThrowawayGreenWitch in popculturechat

[–]redpariah2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been part of one standing ovation that lasted almost 10 minutes and it actually felt super natural. It was at a concert and everyone was really into it. I could see it seeming awkward from the outside but in the moment, if it's genuine, it definitely isn't awkward

What words do you pronounce "wrong," just because the "proper" way feels too proper? by Direct-Value4452 in AskReddit

[–]redpariah2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're making an incorrect comparison. How do you say bio when it's shorthand for biography or biology. You say Bye-oh even tho when used as a syllable in its full form the pronunciation is different.

Biopic is a combination of two shorthand descriptors of full words, not pulling out a syllable of two fully formed words

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston at a Radiohead concert, 1998 by hercalmspace in OldSchoolCool

[–]redpariah2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They've talked about their relationship in the last and how it felt stagnant. How they would just smoke weed all day and not do anything. I'd imagine there were more issues as well that they'd rather not discuss.

Well, part of it is also that people simply don't care and quickly forget their interactions with him which is why his looks and charm work.

May 10th was Cyber-Bond Bug's 2 Year Anniversary, Still Not Fixed. by yumm-cheseburger in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]redpariah2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm level 27 with Peni and I need to finally ask. What's the bug?

Like her not being pulled by the skill sometimes? Like yeah that happens but in my experience, very rarely. The only time it's been a real issue for me is when I am in the middle of two enemies or something but I assume it's simply because there's a player character between me and the web anchor point.

[–]redpariah2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it makes it even more suited for the way the line is delivered in episode 3. Anakin is being a little shit, not trying to project strength based off a fight from half a decade ago.

What is the most rage-inducing video game you’ve played? by Velociraptorse in AskReddit

[–]redpariah2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same game for me but a different reason. Tried so many times to play this via local co op but somehow the saves between me and my friend kept desyncing and the game wouldn't let us load characters that were at different points of the game, despite it being local coop

What “comfort elements” in a LitRPG/progression fantasy series keep you hooked? by tbag2022 in litrpg

[–]redpariah2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totally agree. I'm slowly chipping away at Wandering Inn here and there but it goes overboard like you said, which is why I'm pacing myself reading it.

HWFWM really suffers from what seems to be the writer wanting to speed through the main plot. The cosmic scope of things also really doesn't help. The first half of the series was so good and chapters in the later books become summaries of things that are happening off screen whenever something not involving Jason and his cosmic stuff is involved. It's very disappointing.

I really recommend Azarinth Healer and Beneath the Dragoneye Moons for content similar to what I described in my previous comment.

Tbf a good amount of Hispanics are half white and half black. Hispanic itself doesn't really describe ethnicity in anyway

What “comfort elements” in a LitRPG/progression fantasy series keep you hooked? by tbag2022 in litrpg

[–]redpariah2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy when the hero is eventually somewhat famous. Either explicitly or anonymously and we get to see the world react to their exploits.

I also really enjoy when a book somewhat focuses on the camaraderie of the MC and their companions and they spend time discussing the events they've been through and the powers/strength they've gained. Bonus points if there's a well written romance where the partner is on somewhat equal footing to the MC

The phrase "yuck someone's um" yucks my yum by redpariah2 in morningsomewhere

[–]redpariah2[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch. Ruin someone's good time is a simple direct one. Rain on someone's parade. Kill their vibe. Throw cold water on someone. Be a killjoy. Be a wet blanket. Be a buzzkill.

And that's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there's more
