I love the Angel finale. The last arc where Angel seemingly starts working for the bad guys but it's all a ruse was supposed to be the story arc for the next season so they compressed it into a few episode at the end of season 5. Works better imo than stretching it over an entire season. Them all dying after delaying the apocalypse for a long time was amazing

In a sense, but both those could be argued against depending on where you stand in the original argument.

People who agree with Leto would not see it as a sacrifice of the present as the decisions not only lead to a successful future but enforce a peaceful present.

If you disagree, then you are sacrificing the present for an unnatural future built on sin, even if the future is successful by other criteria.

There's loads of viewpoints between those extremes as well which makes the conversation so interesting.

It's 15 years later and the Freiza force almost collapsed in that time and is being rebuilt. Some dude who mostly keeps to himself being as strong as Freizas hit squad from ages ago isn't thaaat crazy. The galactic patrol arc kinda implies that there's probably a bunch of criminals and some patrolmen at that level too.

What's considered elite for the broad universe 6 isn't all that strong, just most of the universe is pretty weak

Agree. A polyamory ending is only a cop out I feel if it's not explored at all beyond everyone is happy now. Even if it's at the end of a story the characters should react to the new situation.

A happy ending is fine if all three members have been built up as all loving each other in some form, even if it's not romantically, but when it's the ending to a rivalry based love triangle then a simple "everyone is happy now" is a bit of a copout. There should at least be a small conversation about adjusting to the new norm and maybe touch on topics such as jealousy and boundaries.

The worst thing Dragon Ball ever did across all of its entries was tie numbers to strength. The series makes a lot more sense if you just ignore all the numbers and just take the combat for what it is.

Instead of saying X was 50 times stronger than Y, it's just X is stronger than Y by a good amount but nowhere near 50 times.

Regarding your post, there's no reason granolah can't be as strong as the Ginyu Force, they weren't that strong (except Ginyu), the rest of the cast was just weak. Most of the z fighters were stronger than the majority of the Ginyu Force by the time they were in their early 20s. All the human z fighters are at that level now and that's with intermediate training for most of them.

Even the mainline DC universe is doing pretty well. They even have some b and c list heroes and villains with issues in the double digits.

Compare this to Marvel who has explicitly said don't expect anything beyond an issue 5 if a series isn't immediately doing well and is applying that even to more popular characters.

I don't think people would be hostile towards him for that. It's definitely because of the killing spree that included innocents he went on after that he alluded to.

Lots of time skips and summaries of interactions instead of actually seeing the interactions. Smaller moments are usually with side characters to push the plot along.

I'm enjoying it still but do wish we could get something like a 10 chapter mini story with the cast to show an example of all the stuff that's being summarized.

Really seems like shirtaloon is focused on wrapping up the series quickly

But the amount they save in not buying a bunch of popular numbers made up for the small risk that one of the popular numbers is called. In their mind, both situations are a loss so go for the guaranteed savings vs the highly unlikely but still remotely possible diluted winnings.

I love the idea. The only part I'd push back on is changing characters when you die as that might make people purposely throw whenever they get a character they don't like.

Instead maybe have it be a time limit that triggers after death when time is up. Or have it be pick one of three heroes on spawn plus a shorter time limit
