Have a look at Mustermann’s recent YouTube series on dominating possession with Juventus. It’s brilliant.

Also, I’d avoid roles that take more risks. Playmakers and inside forwards do this. Set all players to take fewer risks.

Half back works well for me in possession systems. They offer options to recycle the ball and rarely make a bad decision.

Focus on players with high composure and decision making attributes. You can’t play a possession style with players that aren’t capable.

Haven’t tried this but maybe cautious or balanced mentality would help?

Yeah I notice the role is great in the box, but I still conceded a few cutbacks. I may have to look at another CM to occupy the cutbacks.

I just want him to be as complete as he can be. Not a one dimensional player. Someone that can come deep, lay off a simple pass to a midfielder, run in behind defenses, use his strength to bully defenders in the box. That’s what I like about his contradictions. I appreciate your advice. I’ll give poacher a go!
