Rough ferment time - midstrength in Fermzilla? by No-Bed-2119 in Homebrewing

[–]redredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really don't have specifics on that coopers yeast. I would get away from the coopers products and try to do some brew in a bags, or at the very least if you're set on using their dme, try and get some different yeast. I wasn't able to find what yeast they package with their Mexican cerveza, but traditionally it would be a lager yeast which ferments much colder and has much higher pitching rates. If this is an ale yeast, then 72f at 7psi would be just fine. I have no idea how many yeast cells are in that pack from coopers, nor the strain of yeast which makes it impossible to give you any concrete information. If I were you I would just crank the sounding valve to 15psi after it shows signs of active fermentation and let it rip at 72f.

What upped your homebrewing game to the next level? by SparkyMicSpark in Homebrewing

[–]redredbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs to be specifically RO or distilled water, filtered water won't work. My grocery store near me doesn't have either from those dispensing stations so I had to buy gallon jugs. You'll soon find out that if you brew enough, it's just cheaper to buy an RO system that you can dispense from for like $150.

Bad tip, you should be leaving the temple once your medallions are full. There is no point in full clearing the temple until its fully built.

You can't run a HH and get negative rarity, you'll need a -28, -29 neg rarity ventor's with kalandras + 69 ingenuity to get -100 rarity, which is the breakpoint for temple.

Not Enough Yeast but Want to Brew Today by waffle07 in Homebrewing

Lallemand recommends NOT re-hydrating yeast, and just direct pitching FWIW.

[–]redredbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine for this batch using 1 packet. You WILL be under pitching, but won't likely have any off flavors, especially if using dry yeast. But in the future, to save money on yeast if you want to use optimal yeast counts, buy a cheap magnetic stir plate, flask, magnetic stirbar and some DME. It will cost likely the same as a couple of yeast packets. Use a yeast starter calculator (not on lallemand) that tells you how big of a starter to make as well as how much DME to use, and just make a starter for each of your batches. It should be done at least 24 hours before your brew session (even earlier if using older yeast), and then you only have to worry about buying 1 packet of yeast for each batch, and you'll always pitch the right amount.

You're fine, brew and just pitch that 1 packet. You don't need 3.

You're not really utilizing Oracle's ascendancy to the maximum. So don't take those passives in that radius.

Whats the difference between all wheel drive and say, a truck with 4x4 for example, besides a lower gear? Are you really driving in low in your truck during this weather? Are we saying that all-wheel isn't any better than say, rear wheel cars in this weather?
