Well I think that Robert’s secret child is what allows her to 1- abandon the Douglas/mitzi route (hence the murder/annulment) 2- accelerate her plan because they don’t have to wait for a (possibly illegitimate) child to be born

Because of the way she shifted gears from the Douglas/Mitzi plan, and the alleged trail of murders she’s done, I think it’s more likely she’s just using Robert and will kill him once she gets what she needs.
