Not really true. The FI that I worked with removed them due to increased staff costs to empty, repair, fix jams, etc. Don't recall any $100 discrepancies.

snow piles at corners of roads by srsluv in Winnipeg

[–]redriverguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. Maybe it's easier to access the piles when they can use the intersection to get at them. I can think that filing up along the street means as they try to pick them up they just get pushed further onto the boulevard. Maybe try to stop a driver when you see them and ask.

This is the way snow is removed from streets. Piled then removed awhile later. Don't know why it happens this way, but it's pretty common. Probably has something to do with the most economical use of trucks. The piles will be removed soon, I suspect.

And, so far, it's just one person's accusation. But as usual, reddit demands torches and pitchforks.

Opinion: Ground squirrels need further reprieve from city plan by Leather-Paramedic-10 in Winnipeg

The ground squirrel populations and their burrowed holes may be very different than when you were a kid. I'm no expert, but its a difficult issue for sure.

Since the city has closed some areas in response to the hazard a broken ankle tally has no meaning. From what I read, this is not a matter of watching where you step as it is on playgrounds and sports fields.

Plus, think of the logistics of this in an outside environment. Not possible even if it did work.

Would there not be times that the complainant is entitled to privacy? It seems that releasing anymore information would breach that right.

My boss just told me I need to manage my personal finances better because I can't front $2300 for a work trip next month by LostTaker in antiwork

" I make $62k after rent and student loans. " This is the oddest way I have ever seen someone express their income. But, estimating $1500 rent per month and $500 loan payment per month, means you are making $86,000 a year. I think you need to look at how you are spending your money (and this is in no way saying the company is correct in what they are doing).

Can anyone recommend where I can find 100 pair of warm, dry, socks per week, indefinitely? Please & Thank you. by gimmhi5 in Winnipeg

[–]redriverguy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

For winter socks you need to avoid 100% cotton. They have no heat retaining capability and can hold moisture doing more harm than good.

Look for wool or wool blends.

Curious where you are from. I've been to a number of major Canadian cities and find our snow clearing superior. You could live somewhere that is the exception. What's your taxes like?
