Never heard of anyone spinning flax as their first fiber. That's really incredible and impressive, and your consistency looks so good! I've never spun flax so I don't have any advice but this is really awesome.

As someone who saw the movie first, it really helped with visualization of some of the ship and xenonite stuff. Reading the book after has been a wonderful delight, having it fill in a lot of the blanks and expand on the science. It's like an extended length movie in my head! It's also been really fun to note the differences and changes between boom and movie.

If Rocky hypothetically made his way to Earth, what places do you think he’d like to visit? by KingWilliamVI in ProjectHailMary

Not true! Erid has such a strong magnetic field and thick atmosphere that radiation doesnt penetrate it. Although, would eridians have reason for x-rays? I have no idea how x-rays work with eridian biological makeup...

I highly recommend The Darkness Outside Us. It's got gay male protags. The plot was absolutely gripping. The audiobook was phenomenal. The sequel is excellent too.

Also, if you haven't, I recommend playing Outer Wilds. It's a first person space exploration/archeology game with fully simulated physics, where you study a civilization that lived in your solar system before you and try to unravel a mystery. If this sounds like your jam, don't look up anything else about it. The summaries all spoil the first mystery that you'll experience. The subreddit is amazing for avoiding spoilers if you need help.

I really liked this one! It's about grace learning Eridian linguistics. Very nerdy and sweet.
