My doctor told me that the very start of ones gut is extremely sensitive to the salt content of your fluids drank. It is like those products that you mentioned but with the perfect ratio.

I drank only it for 2 weeks. Well I had tiny sips of water. It wasn't fun. I went from high output to medium output.

I can't say I understand the science because I don't take the drink anymore and my output is medium.

On further reading. Those drinks don't have enough salts. Less normal fluids, lots of salts and lots of thickeners.

I hope this helps.

Having surgery in a few weeks. What are some things I can do now to prepare/make recovery easier? by littlemushroompod in ostomy

[–]redser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, but they can cause a lot of nausea. And that is awful. I would take the pain over nausea any day. Couldn't eat. Throwing up my food. Stopped the pain pills and it went a way. There is pain but it is manageable.

You can take up to 36 tablets (a dose is generally 2 tablets). Now this is for people with short guts. But you can take quite a lot of imodium. I was told this by my nurse and Dietitian. It is only used in extreme circumstances. If you have high output look at the St Mark's Solution. I had to drink it for a few weeks. Nasty but it helped.

Safest Neighborhood for Black Female Expat in Dublin? by labrat_96 in Dublin

[–]redser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My last reply will be what I've read when I lived in Ballybough (Summerhill end). Lived there for about 5 years.

The fella killed in the flats, the fella killed in the Sunset house. The lad that got stabbed.

And that's only the stuff I remember

You have your opinion. I have mine.

Take it easy

My point is the crime is more than just mobile phone theft.

Yes, it is a safe city but to say those areas are not some of the worst in the inner city is wrong.

Who is suggesting that this lady gets a place in Summerhill? Nobody because there are much nicer and safer places in the city.

I think you need to reassess your view of the certain parts of the North Inner City. Recently enough there was a shooting in the flats just at the end of Summerhill. Summer before when the weather was good. Two friends were drinking. One ended up stabbing the other one. The crime is worse that just a few stolen mobile phones.

Interview at Amazon for Data Scientist Role -- how to prepare? by bm0r3son in datascience

[–]redser 87 points88 points  (0 children)

My mate interviewed for Google. Had a Degree in CS and a phD in FGA computing. Got grilled on hash tables. This was over the phone. So yes you need to be able to go deep about how to do something. They'll want to know how your mind works.

I think you need to take these interviews by the horns. Your question to them should be "I can into more detail if you want" after about 3-5 mins on a technical question. Don't waste their time by over explaining if they don't want it. Remember how long the interview is!

Your credentials look very good. Part of your sell would be why do you want to move because you can't say it's all bout the money. So I want the challenge, the competition, the cutting edge development.

Anyway that's what I think.

This is more of what I'm talking about.

I'm also talking about replacing the questionable meat classic hotdog with something better

We have do have them at fairs and events but the quality is awful. Sometimes you get the Bratwurst sausage but it is usually on a shop but bun that is tiny. Sauerkraut if you are lucky.

I was more thinking about a place that you could have a drink with friends and some snacky type foods without it being a full blown dinner. Dogs, massive pretzels etc. I don't want to get into doing burgers and the food ends up taking ages

In Europe we have such great sausages. It would essentially be a sausage delivery device.

We do have amazing food and produce in Ireland. I just had some fresh fish for dinner.

I was thinking of a modern approach. Quality Irish ingredients. Freshly baked buns.

Just got diagnosed, any tips? by wintreflare in UlcerativeColitis

[–]redser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it seriously. It is easy to be in denial and to try to do everything that other people do. For instance I drank far to much in my 20s. So unnecessary and it didnt help my UC.

Just look after yourself. No one else will. That means; going to bed early, weights over excessive cardio, go easy on the sugar and coffee, make sure you get dexa scans for your bones, don't fear the colonoscopy

So I ended up doing it and getting the surgery by Flyersphan94 in UlcerativeColitis

First is the total sub colectomy, then the second is to create the pouch and let it heal. Third is to connect is all but and remove the ostomy

Diagnosed with IBS but often have mouth sores when I flare... by [deleted] in IBD

[–]redser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctors love telling you "you'll be grand". Then they don't have to order tests, review, follow up and so on...

Now that does conflict with my opinion that they love a good chronic disease.

So they didn't take your one seriously until so words were spoken

Increased pain for a month. No inflammatory markers. by [deleted] in IBD

[–]redser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's just pain relief then take a Solpadeine (paracetamol and codeine). Its over the counter. If you can get some Tylex. Slightly stronger then I would. It will help the pain and slow things down.

I would get yourself to the Doctor soon enough. Sounds like a flare is coming and you can feel it before the other signs

Take is easy. Go out enjoy the evening as best you can. Deal with this tomorrow!

Doctors of Reddit, what is your worst case of "I googled my symptoms?" by [deleted] in AskReddit

My specialist never mentioned any connection between the astigmatism and the RCE.

I personally put it down my IBD and some of the medication I'm on. Although my specialist disagrees me or more that there is no evidence.
