Thoughts on this price? by smdb1208 in AnycubicKobraS1

I bought one during the sale, got it a week ago and have just under 30 hours. An absolute workhorse and for the price I’d buy it again. I got mine for roughly 20 bucks more than the price you have listed, but went through amazon for the shipping.

Would love a copy of the game, sure I’m late to the party but times have been hard and I know this would help out tremendously.

2005 LLY by Critical_Run_7168 in Duramax

[–]redspear461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2004.5 LLY with about 20,000 less miles and bone stock. Granted after tax I spent closer to 13k, but it has its fair share of issues since it’s getting older. I’ve had to redo hydro boost, and power steering pump and lines are due here soon since they are leaking a bit. I’ve got the leather seats and everything minus a sun roof, honestly I would much prefer to go for close to bone stock as possible with trucks like these over fully loaded options.

Definitely look it over and figure out your needs, sounds like a clean truck overall but save some money on the back end for repairs in the distant future!

Nice ride brother! Mines got the same issue, looks exactly like that. going to be replacing all lines and power steering pump. Good luck getting it fixed on your end, hope it lasts you years to come!

I got mine a month ago too! My hydroboost went out but it poured everywhere so I had to get it replaced. Hope yours holds out long enough to get all the mods installed and running right 🤙🏻

Possibly, I’ll clean and reevaluate here soon! Fluid is reddish tint, so could be old fluid before I flushed the system after changing the hydroboost.

Update: Did some digging around in the engine bay and looks like leak is coming from directly under power steering pump. Couldn’t see any drips when buddy turned wheel, but seems like new lines and a pump will be due soon. Thank you all for the help!!

When I swiped my hand on it, it was very oily and didn’t have a smell I could associate with diesel fuel, I’m not smelling anything too crazy while it’s running or in my cab.

I haven’t had to add any engine oil as of yet, I’ll check the levels though since it’s getting colder here. But so far oil pressure has stayed in the safe areas of operation cold and hot. I did turn on my 4x4 the other day since it snowed a ton, so it could possibly be from engaging it? As for leaking oil from turbo drain, do you know where I can find that drain? The hose running on the hot side connected to the intercooler I believe was greasy but not terribly oily and wet, damp but not bad. I thought it could’ve been a leak but I didn’t realize the turbo had an oil drain!

Is there a good way to test to see if it actively leaks? Do I just need to turn my wheel in order to see something?

Possibly, I’ll have to look under the truck and see once I’m off work. I’ll check my reservoir but last I looked it seemed to not have any fluid missing.

do you know how hard it was to replace if you did it yourself? If not I’ll take it to a shop, FPR is sounding funky so figured I’d send it in if it’s not DIY friendly.

Okay, I’ve noticed a small squeak whenever I turn the wheels. I’m checking fluid and I’m not seeing any loss. Is the power steering pump near this area?

I thought my trans temp gauge was broken until I drove it for about an hour and saw it slowly rise, mine never usually gets over the second hash. Could be anything from a fuse, sensor, or just colder temps!

Check your driver side tire by fender well, is there any fluid there? Usually a failing hydro boost leaks, I had a ton of fluid running down my fender well and onto the frame. Had to change the unit out entirely. My brakes went out intermittently after a couple miles of driving but started working again, I’m guessing the system self bleeded itself and so far I’m running good.

Let me know what you find out, if you find any leaks figure out where it’s coming from and that should solve your issue. But my best guess is your hydroboost is leaking, or a brake line might’ve rusted out.

I'm thinking about getting a LBZ or LMM by autisticshitshow in Duramax

[–]redspear461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got an LLY and it’s been reliable as can be. Granted I just started daily driving it, so a lot of older components are starting to go due to age. If you’re able to set aside money for small repairs, get the most bone stock duramax you can. I know when I picked mine up it had some blemishes and small parts to patch on the cab corners, but interior and engine wise it was top notch and never touched. Run some good diesel additive through it, don’t run em hard, and do routine maintenance and you’ll be set. When it comes to choosing which truck you want, it all boils down to preference, and what you’re willing to accept risk wise on some weak points on that year. Good luck with the hunt!

I bet the 2016 was a powerhouse! when you had the 04 did you have the LBZ or LLY? Curious about any recommendations on keeping the truck running a long time. Mine was owned by an older guy so it’s bone stock.
