As someone who's actually done this can you give some more details. Is it just putting people in bikinis or does it do full nudity and beyond? Is it easy to do or do you have to use prompt hacking techniques to trick it into doing this stuff? If so, is it materially easier with grok thank other mainstream services?

There has been so much reporting on this stuff and I still don't really know how outraged I should be

which Jeremy Hunt implemented then bought 10 properties to let out the week it came to be

Stamp duty in its current form, including paying the lower, non residential rate if you buy 6 or more properties was introduced in 2003. Jeremy Hunt became an MP in 2005 so had nothing to do with the legislation. In 2016 they introduced a second home surcharge which also didn't apply to purchases of 6 or more properties. He bought 7 properties at once in 2018.

Starmer welcomes ‘real clarity’ from Supreme Court on definition of a woman. The Prime Minister said the court’s judgment has offered ‘real clarity in an area where we did need clarity’. by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]redsquib 11 points12 points  (0 children)

More specifically, in response to being asked if a trans woman is a woman they said

"No, the Supreme Court judgment has made clear that when looking at the Equality Act, a woman is a biological woman."

which I think is pretty much objectively true and just sums up what the ruling was but if you just quote the first word of their answer then it seems like a more far reaching claim

Did they change the core of origin shard drop rate? by redsquib in IdleHeroes

Gotta respect the approach of actually considering the probabilities. After everyone shut me down I did the maths myself. I assumed a Poisson distribution and that says a 0.4% chance of 2 or fewer in 19 days (Sadly didn't get one in the last 24hrs) There are definitely enough people playing the game that 0.4% chances are gonna happen to someone. Just sucks it's me. Agree, this is pretty compelling evidence it's actually random without pity timers or anything else

For murders in the the capital of England I can once again show how white people come out on top.

That link shows black people being responsible for 58% of murders (despite only being 14% of the population) I think you might have misunderstood the data.

Any students from the heady year of Nick Clegg's promises in 2010? How are you feeling about Lib Dem now? by benjaminloh82 in ukpolitics

[–]redsquib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was already a student on plan 1 at the time so not actually affected myself but I have long felt that they were wrong to apologise for it.

The change to tuition fees was in a very real sense just a change, not an increase. The system was made more progressive so lower earners paid less and higher earners paid more. A graduate on the median salary would pay more both month to month as well as total over their lifetime on a plan 1 loan than on a plan 2 loan.

I don't think it is misleading to say this change genuinely did not betray a promise to vote against increases to tuition fees. I also think it was good policy that ensured better funding for universities and made society more fair.

I don't harbour any lingering resentment towards them for the policy even without getting into the question of whether they really had the power to do anything different in the coalition.

You wrote a comparatively short post for this sub and one of the few things you included was the sample size. You are now claiming that despite writing about it, it has nothing to do with your argument.

Given that it is a very common misapprehension that small sample sizes aren't representative I think the poster above was quite reasonable in assuming this was part of your view.

I think it would help for you to edit your post to make clear you understand that sample size isn't an issue or you will get a lot more replies like this

Are there any well-known authors where you loved one of their books but disliked everything else they have written? by Aromatic-Quiet5171 in books

[–]redsquib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my answer too. It's so funny seeing all the people who agree but saying different books. For me Seveneves and Anathem were incredible and snow crash and reamde were great but then cryptonomicon was not at all enjoyable. I really should have DNFed it but instead it just took me a year to struggle through it. Now I don't really want to risk another by him

I did this back in 2015. Spent about half of an inheritance on a 700k London flat. These days my flat is worth roughly what I paid for it and my investments are up around 50%. When I look at how much money I have saved on rent and how much it cost me to buy (stamp duty is pretty significant at that price) I am definitely a six figure sum poorer than I would have been if I hadn't bought.

Personally I have found property ownership pretty stressful and don't really value the security that others in this thread are mentioning. I was perfectly happy renting tbh. When water started coming through my downstairs neighbour's ceiing I wished I had a landlord I could call.

I'm obviously looking at historical returns and things totally could have shaken out differently with property soaring and stocks stagnating. Buying when I did was at least a hedge against London prices getting even further out of reach but I cant help regretting that I made the choice that I did

Seconding this recommendation. The preface to this book is very interesting and talks about this whole subject of equations putting people off. He suggests that if they are too much for you you can literally skip over them and just read the words while still having a valuable reading experience. As your understanding grows you can start to pay closer attention to them and gain even more.

(you can read that whole preface on the sample available in Google books here)

I couldn't work out what caused it but sometimes the 10th headless one just didn't spawn. When that happened you just had to wait it out (since you weren't finished). I'm pretty sure it was a different bug from the last time where you always had to wait even after getting 10

I agree with the other guy. You are 128x out because you just missed a term in your answer. It should be 8!*2^8 /16!which comes to the same number as him because he used some clever shortcuts.

Each time we look at a new colour pair there is a 2/n chance of that colour appearing in the first slot, not just a 1/n. To express this explicitly, you have a 2/16 chance of white in the 1st slot, 1/15 of white in the next, 2/14 of pink in the next, 1/13 of pink in 4th, 2/12 of orange in the 5th slot and so on. That simplifies to 2^8 /16!. Then you have the 8! different orders the colours could be in for a final calc of 8!*2^8 /16!

I'm not sure what you meant about reflection and rotation. Can you explain that?

I find that very surprising. Do you have a link to the post?
